I'm in the market for a middle of the road desktop computer (something like a Core 2 Duo e6400, 2 gig ram, SATA drives, dvd burner, integrated video, audio). Seems like most of the BF desktop deals are usually low end. For you experienced BF people -- do you think there will be (or are now) good deals available on something like this? If so, which stores generally have the best deals?
Also, I can put one of these together my self, are there usually good deals on these type of components? Do you think I'd be saving a enough vs a BF already assembled system to make the effort of putting one together worth it? I already have the operating system and a case.

I also want to get a desktop or laptop with similar specs. i actually prefer to get a decent deal from an online store in the next two or three weeks. Any info?

Except for the harddrives at BB or Staples and some monitor deals there doesn't seem to be much for computer parts at the BM retailers. I myself will probably hope for some online stuff at places like frys or Newegg. Btw someone could compile a list of stuff in the Quick Summary, I might if I have time to kill later.
I've been poking around the "other" deals site, you know, the one whose name may not roll Slickly off our tongues, and they have a thread in their hot deals forum for DIY computer-builders where they regularly update the best deals on computer components for do-it-yourselfers. When you get there, do a search for Build Your Own AMD/Intel Computer.
What is the best total package deal - I am looking for desktop and monitor (and printer). I see BB having a HP desktop and monitor for $679. Don't know how good this is compared to the recent deals I missed. Anything else?
