In case you have outstanding rebates with InPhonic/wirefly etc:
Thank you for contacting the Rebate Team.
We have received your most recent inquiry regarding your rebates.
On November 8, 2007, the sponsor of this rebate, InPhonic, Inc. filed a voluntary petition for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. The filings were made in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. They have obtained a debtor-in-possession financing facility which will give the Company the financial resources it needs to operate under Chapter 11 and reorganize. You will receive communication in the mail regarding any approved rebate claims. Please visit www.InPhonic.com/reorg for additional information on their reorganization. Again that is www.InPhonic.com/reorg.
Thank you for your patience. Sincerely, Rebate Team

I am in the same boat. I have two rebates: one that was submitted early Oct. and another in early Nov., both for a purchase made in May. Wirefly Customer Service stated to me that they were honoring the rebates as long as the submission was correct. I have not received any email communication as stated.
The bankruptcy buy-out and subsequent operational capital made available from it may allow them to honor their rebates- I don't know. I'll tell you this though, if Versa or whoever bought them does not honor the rebates, I would hope the PR fall-out would destroy the Wirefly Brand and ultimately their investment. InPhonic is well known for their shaddy business practices; it's shocking that a brand name like Wirefly is run by such a crude and deceptive parent company. Amazon and Buy should be exposed for this as well.
This is bullshit. I hope the bankruptcy court ensured that the buy-out included cash reserves for all outstanding debts, including payables for rebates.
And of course, InPhonic will not deal with customer inquires concerning rebates, but you can be damn sure Wirefly continues to take orders.
If I hear anything I'll post it. Please do the same.
Thanks,
Angry Guy

I completely agree with above comment. I also have the pending rebate with these guys. Just saw the news that they applied for Chapter 11. What does all this mean to us? Shall we give up on this rebate or is there any chance we will get the rebate?

No email or update yet. My rebate (day before announcement) showed that it was approved and pending payment but obviously not...
4 valid rebates for total $150 appear to have now been 'stolen' by InPhonic. We'll never see a cent under such lax 'laws' allowing companies to operate and wipe out their debts - i.e. steal.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – November 12, 2007 – InPhonic, Inc. (NASDAQ: INPC), a leading online seller of wireless services and products, today announced it received a notice from The NASDAQ Stock Market, Inc. (the “NASDAQ”) indicating that the Company’s securities will be delisted from NASDAQ on November 20, 2007, pending an appeal.
The NASDAQ Staff Determination Letter received on November 9, 2007 indicated that as a result of InPhonic’s having filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, the NASDAQ Staff has determined, using its discretionary authority under NASDAQ Marketplace Rules 4300, 4450(f) and IM-4300, that the Company’s securities will be delisted from NASDAQ and that trading in the Company’s common stock will be suspended unless InPhonic requests a hearing to review the determination. The suspension of the Company’s common stock is currently set to occur at the opening of business on November 20, 2007.
In addition, on November 6, 2007, InPhonic received a NASDAQ Staff Determination Letter stating that the Company fails to comply with the requirements for continued listing because it no longer satisfies the majority independent director and audit committee composition requirements set forth in NASDAQ Marketplace Rules 4350(c)(1) and 4350(d)(2), respectively. As previously announced, Laurence E. Harris and John Sculley resigned from InPhonic’s Board of Directors on October 18, 2007, and as a result, at that time, the Company had only two independent directors on its five member board and two independent directors on its Audit Committee. Rule 4350(c)(1) requires a listed issuer to maintain a majority of the board of directors comprised of independent directors and Rule 4350(d)(2) requires a listed issuer to have an Audit Committee consisting of at least three independent directors.
Pursuant to NASDAQ Marketplace Rule 4804(b), the Company is making a public announcement disclosing receipt of the letters.

Wirefly Reports Strong Cyber Monday and Releases Annual Holiday Wireless Gift Guide
Nov 28, 2007
WASHINGTON, D.C. – November 28, 2007 – Wirefly (www.wirefly.com), the online leader in one-stop comparison shopping for cell phones and wireless service plans, today released its annual wireless gift guide for the 2007 holiday shopping season. The list includes updated versions of best-selling models like the BlackBerry Pearl, Motorola RAZR and LG Chocolate phones, as well as an array of new devices that feature megapixel digital cameras, video and music capabilities.
Wirefly’s own active consumer research indicated a significant spike in online shopping on Cyber Monday. In particular, smartphone sales surged relative to other cell phone models with orders for the BlackBerry Curve and BlackBerry Pearl more than doubling the previous week’s demand. According to a Wirefly survey, nearly 70% of consumers were more likely to follow-through with an online order thanks to the exclusive holiday deals. With nearly half of Wirefly’s customers saying that they shop at least a couple of times a month online, and Cyber Monday smartphone sales on Wirefly up 190% over the past year, the 2007 holiday shopping season should set a record for the busiest online shopping season in years.
“This year’s holiday season is going to be strong, driven largely by consumer demand for mega-pixel camera phones, music phones and new cutting-edge phones that pair style with function. More and more, people want to use one device for multiple wireless applications,” said Wirefly’s President Brian Westrick. “With millions more customers going online this year for their holiday shopping needs, we are excited to offer them our annual holiday gift guide for the hottest cell phones and wireless devices this season.”
For this year’s gift guide, Wirefly identified three categories as the driving force behind a surge of customer interest this holiday season - the latest cutting-edge and eye-catching cell phones, music-intensive handsets and powerful smartphones (in no particular order):
1. HTC Tilt 2. BlackBerry Curve 3. Palm Centro 4. BlackBerry Pearl 5. Motorola Q9
Music Phones
1. LG Chocolate II 2. Samsung Upstage 3. Nokia XpressMusic 5300 4. Samsung SYNC a707 5. Sony Ericsson W580i
Wirefly.com has become a bellwether for consumer trends in wireless, as millions of people have purchased cell phones and rate plans through Wirefly since its launch in 2003. With that many shoppers, Wirefly has great insight into the hottest trends and more importantly, consumer buying behavior in the wireless market today.
