I'm glad there's a BB HD-DVD Action center, but where's the WalMart HD-DVD Action center ?
I got an A3 from WalMart and now BB customers get $50 bucks back. WTF!
I can understand if no stores offered anything, but now that this is happening at BB, WalMart better step-up here.
F. Why does WalMart have to step up here??? Best Buy taking care of their customers has nothing to do with WalMart. The self entitlement being displayed here is just amazing... How about Amazon? Frys? FYE? I am willing to guess that you knew there was a format war going on and that one side was bound to lose, didn't you? |

Prior to 2/23? if i bought on 2/23 am i out of luck? 2/23 is when they really slashed prices on these, so most people who bought prior to 2/23 paid $50 to $100 more, some more than this. I got the A35 for $149on 2/23 and the day before it was $300 |

Perhaps they don't recall that in November (I guess it was Nov. 2 to be exact) was the day that Best Buy and Best Buy for Business dropped their price on the A2 to $99 due to the Wal Mart "secret sale". Of course, many of us got the A3 as a substitute. So it wasn't just those that purchased after 2/23 that got the low prices....and from what it sounds like, those who jumped on the 11/2 sale will get the $50 GC. |

Ordered a Toshiba A2 for $100 back in December from BBfB... BB ended up sending me the A3 because they ran out of A2s. Now another $50!
I LOVE FW! Don't you mean you love Best Buy? As for the BBfB ordeal. I can understand the problem.. but I do know that BBfB offers no returns, exchanges and rebates and stuff.. The reason most people buy from BBfB is because they have a BBfB reward zone and they get more incentive to buy from there.. Double dipping gone wrong? Perhaps. I think BBY is correct, but I feel that they'll give in and offer the GC to their customers. |

I talked to best buy customer service who stated that I should be eligible but I would have to go through bbfb to get the gift card. I talked to an entry level customer service person who said that bbfb purchases are not eligible for a gift card. I said I've heard otherwise, could I hear this from a manager. I got transferred and was placed on hold for awhile and finally I talked to a customer service manager who stated that no decision had been made yet as to whether bbfb would be able to offer gift cards to bbfb customers that ordered the hddvd players. He took my order number and said that I would get an email if bbfb decides to offer something in compensation. |

I called BBFB yesterday and they read to me verbatim from an e-mail all of the BBFB reps got saying that the deal did include orders from BBFB. |

Customer Support Hmm.... the email you posted seems to contradict your claim. At least as far as Best Buy corporate is concerned Best Buy Retail (ie B&M stores) and BestBuy.com customers are NOT the same as Best Buy for Business. The email you posted explicitly cites those business channels and omits Best Buy for Business is contradictory to your claim. As posted earlier I was also told by Sharon BBFB customers would get a $50 BB GC for eligible orders (limit one GC per person regardless of the number of eligible orders and number of eligible players ordered). However, given the still constant contradictory answers coming out of Best Buy Customer service being posted I don’t think any of us will know for sure until after Mat 1st. |

I emailed BBFB and got that reply. What part of you will be getting a $50 GC is contradictory? Some posters on SD have confirmed the email. |

Thanks OP. That makes a pretty good deal even better. So now I have a upscaling A-3 player for net $39 bucks. Funny how the BooRay fanboys *still* lurk on hddvd threads... I was hoping that hd-dvd folding would fianlly stop the trolling, so we can get back deal talk. Not yet, I guess |

How does Best Buy know what address to ship the GC to? What if we paid cash for the item? Hmmm, sound a little fishy....I think people have to call in to get this otherwise they will assumed that people will forget just like those damm rebate. I wonder if we can take our receipt into the show and show the CSR the flyer and get the GC? |

I wonder if we can take our receipt into the show and show the CSR the flyer and get the GC? I am pretty confident that we will see these $50 GC. All but one of my purchases were with a credit card that will be used as the shipping address. For the one HD-DVD that was purchased with existing GC the clerk at BB said they would get the address from my reward zone membership. |

Right, the text mentioned online offers and rewardzone. For cash customers that did not use a reward zone card, you might want to give them a call. |

I bought a few of these players around Christmas just to spend $600+ and get a $150 gift card via AMEX wishlist. I returned them unopened a few days before the return deadline. A few days ago (to my surprise) I received my $150 GC from AMEX. That night I saw BB was offering another $50 back. Will be interesting to see if I get another $50 out of this. |

I wonder if we can take our receipt into the show and show the CSR the flyer and get the GC? I tried to take my receipt into the store....they had heard about the $50gc deal on the internet but had nothing from corporate telling them to do it. So no go at the store. Came home, checked the BB web page. It says the online orders would be done automatically, but doesn't say what to do if you bought in store. So, I called the 888 customer service line. They took my receipt number, checked the date, and confirmed I qualified. Took my address, and GC should arrive in 4-6 weeks. |

From the Circuit City webpage 7. I bought a first-generation HD DVD player. Can I get a refund? Toshiba is not currently planning to make refunds available to early adopters of the hardware. However, if you purchased a Toshiba HD DVD player from Circuit City, you can return the player to your local store within 90 days of your purchase to receive your purchase amount back in the form of a Circuit City store credit. This credit can be applied to the purchase of a Blu-ray player or any other merchandise. This policy extension applies only to players and not to movies on HD DVD. Me, I'm over 90 days ...... friggers ...... |
