I just saw this deal on SL. YupeePhone.com is offering unlimited calls to India for $19.95/- per month.
Here is what the site says

YupeePhone.com said:YupeePhone works like the traditional phone, with few distinct differences :
# Rates are lower and in our Monthly Unlimited plan you can make UNLIMITED calls to over 60 destinations worldwide, with no extra charge.
# No hidden charges! You will never receive a bill from us. Our services are prepaid.
# No contract required!

Here are the rates

Thanks

Anybody try them out yet? Could not find any reviews on the web.

Apparently, the unlimited calling for $19.95 a month requires one of the following
1. Purchase a VOIP adapter from them for about $75 (includes first month's charges) - this requires a high-speed internet connection.
2. Dial a local access number and then punch in the destination phone.

Option 2 requires an additional $3.99 a month [link

well this is great,i dont no why people are not intrested here as like at SD.this is really great

and i just called to their CC and i came to know something intresting, its like Dish Network ,if you sign up with unlimited plan(without internet) is 19.95 for 1st month, then 19.95+3.99(for local access number),

now intresting part is that you can share yr phone and password to yr family and friend so they can call from their phone,so u can share that 19.95+3.99 dollor between them.if you share between 5 people its like 5 dollor per head for unlimited calls to 60 countries. DID I SAY INDIA IS NOT INCLUDED???

come on people,,,, what you think???

Hmmm... choppy when I use Skype. Good when I use reliance... hmmm... of course the problem is with the infrasturcture in India.

Looks like you can get it without the 75 bucks - you just do not get an adapter.

Has any tried using the local access number twice at the same time. As in three way calling.

lol'd so hard

So funny, so true!

*Note: This is not a racist comment, just agreeing that many companies outsource their tech support positions to individuals residing in India; can't argue with that.

I have been using Skype from last year and 4 months and it is ok though not as good as regular but who can beat the unlimited value. Skype was choppy when internet was not stable in India but now a days even my Asterisk rocks. Very Clear.

I think it's an ATA adapter for $75 that you have to get with the service. i'm not sure if you have to get the adaptor or can you just use a soft phone to make calls?

i was looking at a company called VoiceStick.com, they looked the same but i think you can just use a sonft phone and don't have to buy anything.

If any one knows more please let me know.

I signed up and paid for unlimited plan. Even after 2 days, it says I have 0 balance. I tried to call local access numbers & those are busy or non-working. I do not see a link to purchase a personal local access number ($3.99 a month) but there is a suggestion to buy one for better access (??????). When I tried to call their customer service, it went to a message box which is full. I sent an email but my problem is not clearly resolved. It seems impossible to contact them.

I am sure that I will get frustrated soon with this kind of system. I should have waited and see to verify experiences before.
