The Phillips 5992 Dvd player is back in stock at most of the Costco in the Atlanta area. Recently purchased one, this thing truly plays anything that is thrown at it. Great player. It's $49.99 unfortunately no $10 off this time.................. I love it so far after just one day of use!!

Yeah, I've had this thing for about 4 months and its great - paid $49 too - when i went to the costco in farmindale (melville) they were hard too find but there was a stack of them piled on top of each other - again 4 months ago - i use the usb alot more than the dvd player

If I encode files to play on this any suggestions for best supported audio codec to use? I always just use mp3.

This deal is long dead; however, this thread is now moving to Deal Discussion instead of Expired Deals, since there is still discussion about the product.

I have the DVP-5990 and it's having problem playing WMV files sometime. Is there a firmware to fix this, or is this 5992 one better? TIA!

Ditto!!
I put this on all the philips players (parents, sister, myself), it make the USB browsing 100% better.

This firmware is fine for the 5992, right?

Update (disregard), found a post that confirmed its same firmware.

Does anyone know if costco still carries this in Socal? I checked online and cant find it. I guess Dell is the next best place to buy it.

I grabbed 2 last time but needed one more. Best deal on it now is Dell at $50 + tax.

Does Dell not sell it anymore? Anyone know of a good deal on it?
Why does it seem the 5990 is more available, and the 5992 is harder to find?
