Did anybody receive rebates from AvLab? Their website is AvLabProducts.com and they sell consumer electronic/computer stuff. Back in Dec 07 I purchased few items on Buy.com with AvLab rebates. I have submitted two rebates and they have been given me the runaround ever since. First they said it will be mailed next month, then next month, and so on. Now they don't respond to emails and whenever I called their rebate customer service (626-581-9038) I get transferred to a voicemail. Amazingly they still sell stuff on Buy.com. Called Buy.com and that doesn't seem to help. I will be filing with bbb.org and Attorney General and see what happens. I did a whois search on the site and this is below is what I found. Beware of AvLabProducts.com and stay away from them.

I had same issue with this company. They don't seem to honor their rebate promise. I got this email from them. The rebate was suppose to be paid almost six month ago. IT was for rebate of $50 . Any idea how we an get this guys to honor their rebate promise

I'm having the same issue. I've been emailing them once a month. The person, whom I'm dealing with is James Ariza, is quite responsive and does respond, but all of his responses is that they are behind and to wait. I don't know how long they expect us to wait. I've waited for 3/4 of a year. I'm considering filing a BBB, but looking at BBB report, I don't think it will help. Maybe I should file one against Buy.com since they are enabling them to defraud their customer.

I would suggest you log a ticket with Buy.com I had already did so and i think if enough people complains to Buy.com, they might take some action. Buy.com did sent me an email stating they are looking into this issue. Meanwhile person known as James Ariza from avlab sent me an email checks have been scheduled to be mailed out on July 25th. Allow up to a week for delivery. I find it hard to believe they honor their rebates so, will wait until end of july to see if they really sent me a check or not. If they don't honor the rebates may me we can all bring them to court to honor their rebate

It has been 7 months and I still have not received their rebates. When I sent them emails, they kept sending email back with same response like "behind in sending out rebates", "we will send you check next month", same thing over and over. When I called they transferred me to a voicemail. They are defrauding you and me and Buy.com still allows them to sell their products. I called Buy.com and they are saying things like "your email has been escalated to corporate", "we will investigate", etc. It has been 7 months and neither has done anything. AVLab knows well that Buy.com will do nothing (they probably read this thread and laughed about us suckers). I filed the complaint on bbb.org with both companies and of course, AVlab did not respond and Buy.com said that they are not responsible for other companies' rebates. Buy.com is very sleezy when it comes to customer service and they are part of the problem. AVlab only has a PO box as their address. They scammed us with their rebates and continue to do so with impunity. Our only way to fight back is spread their misdeeds to the public. Good luck to all.

Update: I submitted a complaint from to the Attorney General in CA about the company and in about 2 weeks the A.G. sent me the update letter with the company stating that they had sent me a check. Two days later I receive my $120 rebate check from them. After 9 months, I finally got my rebate. Buy.com and bbb.org did not do squat...if you feel that the company is cheating on you with the rebate, go straight to the attorney general!

I did get a reply from Avlab stating that my check will be sent out on 8/15/08 and to give it a week for delivery. I guess it was a lie. I will wait for another week, and if not, I will file a complaint with the AG.
------------- After a couple more emails, I did receive my rebate. Here's my take on avlab, the product itself is fine; however the rebate process is unbearable. I will only buy from them if there is NO rebate. For those planning to buy Avlab product with rebate, beware of the hoops you will have to jump through to get your rebates.
Sigh, after reading this thread. I am waiting for a rebate I mailed around 4 1/2 months ago. I've emailed three or four times, and keep getting the runaround, "Due to staff shortages, we are running behind. Please give us another 2-3 weeks" is the standard response.
Thankfully, my rebate is "only" $20, but I don't give up easily. Looks like I've got a fight on my hands to get my rebate.
Yeah, this place really seems like a cut-rate outfit. I sent them one more email inquiry:
I have been patiently waiting for AV Labs to make good on this rebate, and you have not done your part. As you must be aware, there are many reports on various online forums noting the long delays and failures to respond to rebate matters by AV Labs.
If I do not receive a reaonable response by this Friday, 10/17, as to when I will be receiving my overdue rebate, my next steps will be to file complaints with the BBB and the California State's Attorney General.
and here was the reply:
This rebate most likely will not appear in our systems for about another 2-3 weeks. You’ll want to check down the line for an up to date status.
Yet again with the "wait another 2-3 weeks" nonsense. Enough already. CA AG's office, here I come.

I drove over to the address mentioned 18235 Valley Blvd., City of Industry CA and there is a different company called Chinda Toys there. Looks like AV Lab Products is a complete fraud. I happened to talk to someone in www.buy.com and they claimed first that there was no MIR associated with my product, but after I sent them a copy of my MIR, now someone from Fujitronics is handling my case and she said that my MIR form is missing. So I had to send it to them again.

My rebate is now 18 weeks old and have called and e-mailed numerous times with no results! I am going to file a complaint with the BBB and am going to contact Buy.com but probably will never see the rebate!
My rebate is nearly SEVEN MONTHS old, and the liars pulled the last straw when their FIFTH email to me said:
Dear yoregano,
This rebate offer has been qualified. Please allow 3-4 weeks for the rebate check to be mailed out.
That was EIGHT weeks ago. I filed a BBB complaint last week and am awaiting a response. Preparing to file with the AG's office next.

the same happened with me and tha name of that lady is rhocher and she said the same thing when i replied to her that i am waiting for two rebates so you are talking in which one. after that she did't reply me
AV Labs ignored my complaint with the BBB. I just filed on online complaint form with the CA Attorney General's office.
Man, I've had some troubling rebates in the past, but this place is the worst.

RE: AV LAB Offer #: B1004 - Stereo Headset
Don't bother holding your breath any longer. Nothing confirmed yet but I drilled into their website a bit and found a parent company in Calif (626.333.5511 - Rebates=Ext. 140). They had a number for "Rebates" that always went to a voicemail box. That box is now unable to take messages since it's Full. I zero'd out to eh operator and the exact same thing. Voicemail box is Full.
I'm afraid we'll have to scratch this one up to being "Too good to be true" and being screwed by corporate liars.
I'm going to go after BUY(dot)com where I purchased these, see if they'll give me a credit for a future purchase on their own site. They tend to have pretty good Customer Service.
Though I paid too much, at least I like the Headset.
I received a letter for the Cali. AG's office telling me that they are contacting AV Labs on my behalf. Waiting to see if this finally greases the wheels.
I know it's not a big monetary amount ($20 in my case), but it's an open and shut case; I wonder if filing in small claims court is worth it to me if they don't pay up otherwise.

I filed a complaint with my AG. I recieved a letter from my AG. But still no response back from av labs.
Im thinking about contacting a lawyer and filing a class action lawsuit.
Still no progress for me. It's been several weeks since I heard from the CA AG's office stating that they would contact AV Labs, and I haven't heard anything. I just emailed Buy.com asking for a refund. We'll see.
I also bought Av Lab iPod-iPhone FM Transmitter. The rebate offer + B1070.
I am still waiting for rebate check, after reading this post realized that AvLab is big Scam for reabte. They are probably 15-20 miles from my place as per address. I am going to file with California State's Attorney General and lets see how far it goes.
i too filed the complaint and received a letter from the AG office. But if the phones are not working then how is the AG office going to contact these fraud company ?
Buy.com is of no help. I have called them and each time they say they will followup and will notify within 48 hrs. I have yet to hear from them on all occasions. I will not do any business with Buy.com for sure.
I had a problem with Dane electric with Newegg and they promptly refunded my money. I prefer Newegg in that respect.

I absolutely agree, Buy.com sucks! I tried to contact them also and they refuse to do anything and were still carrying AvLab Products knowing damn well that there rebates are a scam. 3 weeks ago I filed a complaint with the AG Office but have not heard back from them yet. We need to make AvLab responsible or run them out of business and QUIT buying anything from Buy.com. This is the second time in 2 years I have purchased items from Buy.com where the rebates have fallen through. At least on the last one they gave a minimal $10.00 gift certificate. It was a small consolation considering the item originally cost $50.00! I have had it with Buy.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I filed a complaint with the AG and still no response from avlabs.
I sent an email to buy asking them to reimburse me for the rebate amounnt or let me return the product, then i got this response back:
"Thank you for contacting Buy.com regarding order #xxxxxxxx. We regret to learn about the difficulties you have experienced with this order.
Management is looking into the handling of rebates via this company. You will be contacted once a resolution is made.
Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter."

I have the same issue. Contacted the customes service rebate department left a voice message, no replies yet. Called Buy.co they said they don't have any rebate information on file. I have the rebate form and dates which qualify and clearly states that the rebate is for Buy.com orders only. Here are the offer no.'s B1073 , B1004. for mouse pad and stereo headset. Any body else have succeded to get rebates on these products?

Just got a e-mail back from California AG and they stated that they will look into it but cannot represent a individual. I don't really care at this point as long as Av and Buy.com are held responsible for all the rebate problems they BOTH have caused! Buy.com pulled the same song and dance on me about not having rebate info but it specifically named them on the rebate form! I will never go back to Buy.com!

Manufacturer: AV LAB Offer #B1073, $15 Mail-In Rebate Product: AV Lab Mouse Pad
"This Mail-In Rebate entitles any customer to receive a rebate check of $15.00 for purchasing Av Lab Mouse Pad Case Model: AV-HMP from Buy.com only."
Purchased: 9/01/08 Postmarked: 9/05/08
--------------------
I emailed them on Oct 26, 2008. They replied very promptly asking for the offer #. After I gave it to them, they replied with:
From: Drew (rebates@avlabproducts.com) Sent: Fri 10/31/08 11:20 AM Hello, This rebate will not be processed for another month or so. Best Regards, AVLab Rebates Fax: (626) 333-0022 Email: rebates@avlabproducts.com
--------------------
After that, they refused to return any emails. Calling the number on the rebate form (626-581-9038) resulted in "...no longer in service..."
I just filed with the AG. BBB's website is currently returning a server error so I'll try again later. I also emailed Buy.com but I doubt they'll do anything about it.
Thank you for contacting Buy.com regarding order #xxxxxxxxx. We regret to learn about the difficulties you have experienced with this order. I just received a letter from Melissa Nelson for Edmund G. Brown, Attorney General stating that they will write the company )who they identified as "MGE Company USA / AvLab Products / Vox Digital Corp."), in a attempt to resolve the issue, but they are prohibited by law from representing private citizens in legal matters. They did say that my complaint was going to be held in their files if future action is taken, and if not I could "contact private counsel to advise of other remedies". Ya right, hire a lawyer for a $15.00 rebate!!! I don't think so!!!
As with all the rest writing here, I also have been scammed by AVLab and Buy.com.. With AGs and BBBs being useless, all we can do is pass the word to protect others and to have no further dealings with Buy.com and AVLab as well as any site that supports them. Our money is safer buying elsewhere.

I got that same exact same email from "drew" stating that it would not be processed for another month or so.... Then ignored ever since. BBB does nothing. Basically we all got screwed. Buy.com is also at fault here. I got screwed a couple years ago with those SD cards that were supposed to be free after rebate. Unfortunetly, nobody got those rebates either. People need to realize that Buy.com sucks just as much as avlabs.
