I found the same...

Was trying to get a cash adv from US Bank.

Their machine said "declined".

But the transaction was later settled on the card. The card CSR claimed that the money was already taken out of their side, even though there was not my signature. The US bank said there was nothing they can do.

What a nightmare. I am still dealing with this... D@mn, it happened to the biggest card I have ever had, $299.99!

It surely is just an authorization that will not complete, and fall off in 3 or 4 days, call the number on the card they can see that and confirm..
Why did you think you get a cash advance?

I prefer to do this with a teller.

based on the account history, it appeared to be indeed settled. There are 3 items post for the "failed" cash advance: authorization; reconcilation; final cash adv. It's exactly the same as my other cards with sucessfully cash adv.

Edit: I did it with a teller. The teller's machine declined it. there is no way to do cash adv with an atm machine i believe.

But I am sure you decided to stay with the card, because you've always told us how great the cards are, right?

I never said the V card is great or better than a check.
When that's what was offered that was what you got.
And I never called and asked for it to be a check.

Given a choice, I want the cehck.

A little of the subject.

When PP had the cash advance loophole I did it every day the bank was open, and mine was open Saturday.
Remember PP debit Mastercard is not a credit card, but
getting a cash advance from the teller and getting the 1.5% bonus worked for 2 years.
I had two PP cards so the gain was good for a few minute at the back which was next to my breakfast/lunch place.

Great news indeed. I have 3 more rebate cards in process. Once that's done, I can be done with the calls to get checks

I actually will still choose Visa Cards for Easyrebate. I will just call 1-800 after getting the cards and asked for Check issused later. This way these checks will be in a neat Envelope not eaiser to get lost in the mail v.s. the Postcard Staples Check. Quite a few times they lost in mail and have to be reissued. Especially not want to risk it with a $100 Postcard check! -

Similarly, I'd rather get a rebate prepaid visa card in an envelope than a postcard check. Additionally, those who received CPG processed checks with insufficient funds would likely have preferred prepaid visa cards. Even though I had a choice with yesterdays Staples rebates, I chose the card.
