Too bad for you. Rebates allowed me to get lots of free stuff, including color laser printers and a laptop last year. It's just a game, but it's one that you rarely lose if you keep good records and are diligent about following up. I've done hundreds of rebates over the last 10 years or so, and I've only lost a couple of them, one of which was my fault. All of these rebates will be made good if folks are persistent. |

Are Panda Security software renates processed by CPG? I saw on the list the name "Panda Distribution" which is not the same as Panda Security software. The rebate checks are drawn out of a community bank called Stearns bank. I don't think they are related to CPG. What do you think? On the renates there was no reference to who to call or a website if you have a problem with the rebate which leads me to believe that Panda Software processes their own rebates. |

mistycoupon said:I WOULD HAVE NEVER KNOW ABOUT THIS DEAL UNLESS I MONITORED OTHER SITES. I POSTED THE INFO HERE AND NOW THIS POST IS BURIED WHERE NOBODY CAN SEE IT. GOOD MOVE. AT 3000 + POSTS I AM FINISHED WASTING MY TIME AND ENERGY BY POSTING IN THIS RINKY DINK SITE.
MY ORIGINAL POST HAD 1178 VIEWS AND THIS POST HAD 303 VIEWS. TOTAL 1481 FOR THIS MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION.
SD HAS 42,633 VIEWS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOW FW, THINK REAL HARD WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR MODEL HERE. While I'm not a fan of people who web-shout with all capitals, Mistycoupon has a good point - this thread is not set up in any meaningful way, by either its title or its original post, to provide sufficient information to enough people who would want to know about this bankruptcy. I'm not saying the OP did a bad job - he/she simply provided the information he/she had from a particular manufacturer about its rebate, but there is definitely more information out there and this thread as it presently stands does not cut it as far as disseminating that information to the broadest possible group of FW members. A more useful title for the main CPG bankruptcy post would have been something like: Check Your Rebates - CPG ( Rebatestatus.com ) Files Bankruptcy Other threads that popped up at about the same time as this one had much more information, such as:
Locked CPG bankruptcy thread When there are multiple and/or duplicate threads on the same topic, the primary criteria used for selecting which one should be the main thread and which threads should be locked is the usefulness of the thread, i.e. which post provides the most information and is easiest to read. If the threads are roughly equivalent, then use the who-posted-first criteria as the secondary means of selecting which thread will remain open. This will certainly piss off the small handful of GIVE CREDIT!!! weenies who are so proud of themselves for rushing to the computer and firing off sometimes inadequate posts just so they can be the first one to post a deal or other information here, but it will be for the benefit of the entire FW community for it to promote the best information, not just the first-posted. I've added a list of companies for whom rebatestatus.com processes rebates to the Quick Summary above, copied from FrugalFreak's thread, below: Another CPG bankrupcty thread |

Is it possible to be check bounced? It should have bounced by now if it was going to ... you're probably in the clear. |

Not necessarily. I've received bounce deposit notifications 14 days after deposit. (Back when I used to sell and still accepted checks on eBay 4 years ago and more) You're not safe until probably Dec 1st. |

From Logitech... Brief Summary --------------------------------------------------------------- What is happening with the rebates???? Discussion Thread --------------------------------------------------------------- Response (Eugene) - 11/17/2008 01:35 AM Dear xxxxxx,
Thank you for your e-mail. My name is Eugene and I will be assisting you with your issues regarding case number xxxxxx-xxxxxx. With regards to your issue, Logitech is aware of this issue. We are currently working very closely with the relevant parties to sort this issue out. As for now, if you have received a check, do not bank it in first as it will only bounce. I am not sure when will they come up with a conclusion. What I will do is to keep your mail in my mailbox and set it to pending. In this case, your issue will not be discarded. When I receive a feedback I will notify you immediately. I apologize for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for using Logitech. Have a great day ahead, xxxxxx. |

I chatted online with Newegg today concerning an Acronis rebate through CPG. All I got was double talk about how they are working on it, and if I don't hear from them in 10 days please contact them again. Should I hold my breath? Or should I wait 10 days and dispute the charge with VISA? Let me know. |

We regret to inform you that our 3rd party Mail-in-rebate processing provider is unable to honor the rebate checks for the item you purchased at Newegg.com. I'm really not into rebates but any insight would be appreciated. I have a rebate check from trendnet for 15$ but didn't receive any email about not cashing it. Does it say the 3rd party's name on the rebate check? The only name i see on mine is trendnet. Thank you for your time. es |

But Nero's $20 upgrade rebate is still handled by CPG. My status for this rebate used to show a mail date of around Dec 17th. It has now changed back to processing. |

Contact Logitech to find out where you can resubmit your copies? What else were you thinking someone might suggest? Of course this is the first time in forever that I didn't scan everything. My damn scanner wasn't working ... so looks like I'm probably out $30. |

I called Antec support and I was told that I can send the original check with a copy of the rebate paperwork and they will take care of it. So far I received emails from pricegrabber and zyxel voluntarily that they are going to reissue checks, so antec is the only other one pending (one check received and another pending). If anyone is interested, here is what you need to do for antec rebate: - If you have a check make a copy and send the original - Include a copy of the original paperwork. Send these over to: Antec Attn. Malissa Moore Rebate dept no: <the original dept number> 47900 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA - 94538 |
