Brickbat - My cards did the very same thing. The guy told me when I called that because they were replacement cards, it would not accept my phone number. I don't know where this pin # came from or why the phone number is no good, but he gave me a different pin number to use and yes, it worked to activate them. Call & ask them about that. I don't know if my pin would work for your activation, but it was 9420 and you could try it. It is a pain in the butt - but hey, I just used 2 cards and got $50 bucks taken off my Shop n Save bill. Figure it's worth the hassle and the stamps in the long run cause I spend A LOT at the darn grocery store every week!! |

LOL - MY pin number was also 9420 - so anyone who tries to activate with a phone number and it doesn't work, try 9420. Everyone has the same pin #, I guess. |

I have also been sending receipts for Claim Your Gas and Claim Your Groceries to this company since January, and as of June 7, I haven't received a single card yet. I get confirmation emails every month stating that they processed my receipts and that i should get a card in 4-8 weeks, but I should have gotten 3 or 4 cards by now. I don't have my voucher code with me today at work so i will have to call that number tomorrow. I see a couple people here posted that they had called the number in May, and they haven't checked in since to say if they finally got their cards or not. |

Okay, it obvious by now that this company only fulfills their obligation for the cards if you are really persistent. I emailed Legacy Express to complain of no cards since February. At that submission it said 4-8 weeks on the website. I also emailed CYG.com that same day and 2 things happened. Someone called the same day (presumably a response due to Legacy Express getting involved) and said my grocery card was returned in the mail to them. She wanted to check the mailing address and remail it. We double checked the address and it was correct in the first place, just as in each email acknowledgement that you get from them that your receipts and received and processed. She said it would go out in 'a day or so'. That has been over 2 weeks ago. The other thing was a terse email from the company saying the card was lost and could not be replaced for 8 weeks. So go figure. I am going to the BBB now and, from others who have posted here, it seems you have to really be persistent. I am thinking of calling the Desert Sun newspaper in Palm Springs and let them put a little pressure on Legacy Express. I would never have bought the piece of furniture that I did if I didn't expect to get $500 back. Maybe a couple of calls to the local tv stations would help too. How about a letter to David Horowitz in the Costco magazine? Let's not get lazy, let's get determined to see them exposed for fraud or get the cards rolling.... |

I called in yesterday and was told my first two months giftcards were sent the day before, and they said it would be 10 business days to receive. Not really sure of that but what the hey we will give them a shot. |

Wow! I received my March gift card today without calling them! And I activated without any PIN number this time. This is great! It is NOT a scam. My other two cents: The return on the envelope does NOT say it's from Claim Your Groceries or Gas --- whatever. Mine says it is from BBZ Resource Management, Inc. and the only reason I recognized it is because of the Mesa, AZ on the return address looked familiar. And the envelope has a bright orange flap with a photo of a girl handing a credit card. I started opening all of my mail when I started this program and I'm glad I did, cause these are the types of things I usually throw away without opening. |

I got one today which should be the February card. It activated with the 9420 code rather than the phone number. Wonder if they will start coming now or if we will have to complain each month? |

I have researched writing to David Horowitz already but his website charges $65 to ask him a question. If you are a Costco member, you get a $5 rebate. With times as hard as they are, there is no way I can afford to pay $65 to ask someone a question!! That's insane. I'm certain Mr. Horowitz has heard of these rebate programs already and hopefully, will address them in a future issue of the Costco Connection. And as I stated when I first started writing on this forum last month, I would recommend that anyone who has waited more than 60 days for a gift card from claimyourgroceries.com or claimyourgas.com files a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. It seems to be the only way to get your cards. However, I refuse to go through this kind of major hassle again. It took four months to get the three cards we were owed. If our cards don't arrive regularly, I'm taking the furniture store and Mitsubishi to small claims court. This was not what was advertised when we made our purchase. The $500 of "free" groceries are only obtained after you spend at least $2,000 for food over the course of 20 months. IF you must spend money to get the "free groceries" then they are not FREE, are they? Even then, claimyourgroceries is now stating that each gift card can take up to 12 WEEKS to be received. That's 4 per year. The way I figure it, it will take them over FIVE YEARS to send all the cards and that must constitute some kind of fraudulent advertising. None of us bargained for this when we made our purchase. Now we all know better - never take one of these vouchers again - but I'll bet there are hundreds of thousands of people who fell for this same scam. |

Ditto the above statements. I registered in Feb 09 and started sending in receipts in March 09. Haven't received anything. I have emailed and called them several times. According to their response, everything is ok and I will be getting my gift card soon. All I can say is make sure you let the company know where you got their voucher that nothing has come to fruition. |

They are saying that if you send in your receipts today, the gift card will arrive 12 weeks from now, which is consistent with the timeline posted on their web site. Those 12-week periods overlap. |

Hi everyone! It sounds like a lot of trouble getting cards for this program, but I bought a certificate off eBay and registered in May.. I guess I'll take my chances with this, ready to complain if I have to. Does anyone know if that hundred dollars each month that we have to spend is pre-tax? |

As far as I know, it's the total amount on the receipt, including the tax. We just use our Costco receipts and those always total more than $100. If you don't want to take the chance that you would be breaking one of their "rules", just send in receipts that total $100 or more BEFORE taxes. You may risk getting rejected and then you lose that entire month's gift card - you can't re-submit. It's called jumping through hoops, I guess. |

oh yeah - and in response to JayK, Mr. Senior Member, no one to my knowledge has received 12 gift cards in one year. That's what we are entitled to, but they don't send them. It took 4 months for us to get our first card - so it kinda bugs me that some people (yourself included) keep bringing up the "claimyourgroceries website FAQs". They don't stick to even that timeline (8-12 weeks)- and they send emails stating a 4-8 week delivery time, which they also don't abide by. You must work for them or be affiliated with them OR you are not a frustrated program participant or you wouldn't be so quick to defend them. I've noticed on this website, FatWallet, that a lot of the "senior and cranky members" of the forums have nothing constructive to say - they write only to criticize those of us who make valid comments or are truly trying to answer someone's question. To you and those like you I say: GET A LIFE. When you, personally, have submitted months of receipts to this program and you get NOTHING in return, I shall happily refer you to the website FAQs for comfort and assistance. |

They don't stick to even that timeline (8-12 weeks)- and they send emails stating a 4-8 week delivery time, which they also don't abide by.I agree that they don't stick to their original timeline, and there is a significant amount of consumer intervention necessary to get your gift card, but from what we've seen in this thread they do eventually deliver.

You're correct that I'm not a program participant, but that's because I recognize that you can't get something for nothing without a significant hassle.

I have complained to BBB (they currently have an F rating) and the AG of AZ consumerinfo@azag.gov today. I just contacted USPS for mail fraud and file the Federal internet fraud complaint (See the notes seciton under the OP). I urge everyone else to do the same - they generally need numbers of people to complain before they take action. |

I posted above that I was about to call the customer service number that somebody posted (480)455-5192, and I did indeed do that, and spoke to someone named Karely, who told me that they don't know why the Visa gift cards were not sent out yet, but promised to expedite it and I would receive them within 7-10 business days. It's now past that deadline and I still haven't received a single gift card yet. I am also in the Claim Your Gas program and had the same problem. I tried the number again, but now it's just a recording, telling you to do the customer service on their website. I guess it's easier for them to ignore complaints that way! I already did the online complaint thing, and i never heard from them, which was why i called them. I got involved with this scam because I bought an alarm system from ADT, and they pushed this promotion, which made the difference to go with them vs. another company. I didn't realize what a pain in the butt this was going to be. I have it in my contract with ADT that I am supposed to get $1000 in gas and grocery vouchers, and now I am about to call them on it! I filled out a complaint with the AZ ATTY GENERAL, and will fill out the other forms per Damno's post above. BTW, I live in the Phoenix area and am tempted to go to this office in person sometime. Oh, and i have what I believe to be the CEO's home number too! That ought to be fun! |
