As the title said, this is not really a straight hot deal but, please hear me out. It may negatively affect some of us here.
Chase pays a $50 bonus when you redeem $200 in Cash Back rewards. Some of us here have taken advantage of that in the past. Unfortunately, I just got a mail from Chase which I discarded as junk mail. Thanks for my wife who picked it up and read it. According to the mail:
"The $50 bonus when redeeming $200 in Cash Back Rewards will no longer be available after June 30th"
So I suggest that folks that have accumulated $200 in Cash Back Rewards cash out before June 30th. Yeah, you make $50 on $200 (does this make for a hot deal?).

Thanks for posting this. I wonder if it makes sense to get a different card. I had gotten that extra $50 3 times already--other cards might offer something as good or better. I haven't looked in years.
For those of you that are short, have you tried using the Chase shopping center for extra Cash Back? Signing up for a trial of Netflix is $15, for example.
Dude. It is FAR worse than you wrote. They also discontinued the 3% Cash Back on "Everyday spending categories" is no longer in effect. That means ONLY 1% Cash Back on everything (except that they vaguely refer to 1% back on "new spending categories throughout the year." They are going to be paying out about HALF of the bonuses they were previously. I think it is time for a new card! Nutwood, I searched mint.com forums (for "chase freedom") and could not find anything about this. Link?

Don't forget that they've also added a $30/year fee for keeping the card!

I have not received the email but I just login to my reward account and it is still showing the $50 bonus and 3% reward.
