Some phones are available online for not much more than the best price that you can get directly from Sprint. sonysw said:I've noted that the best way to keep your sero plan is just to buy phone at eBay and activate as replacement phone. I have done this the last 3 years. Yes, I have the $150 rebate as a bargaining chip so they won't mess with my account. They never charge me to activate phone and also if they change my plan I just tell them that I will leave. So far so good. They keep all the perks an paying only $22 after tas and discount. You can get HTC TOUCH PRO at eBay for $ 240 (brand new after live Cash Back). No tax and waiting for rebate. I've seen HTC Touch Pro for $200 on the local Craig's list, will be getting it soon. This is $100 cheaper than getting it on a new 2 year contract. Unless you are willing to be ripped off for the latest and greatest, SERO and used phones are the way to go. |

Would this include blackberry as well? |

if you are crazy enough to give up your SERO plan just to get the newest phone then you don't belong on Fatwallet! |

Instict doesn't work as mentioned before and maybe its to early to tell on the 'pre' too but from what I read in other threads it won't work..I thought the HTC TOUCH PRO worked on SERO too? Yeah touch pro works on SERO as I have one |

This is a forum for deals and ways to save money, not reviews of the latest gizmos. My topic is related to a deal... If someone thinks that another phone is better or the Palm Pre isn't worth it, then it might stop others from buying the phone, saving them 200+. I think not paying for a bad phone or getting another phone that is better would be considered a deal to me. Peoples advice on FW is a BIG reason other buy or don't buy which is why I created my thread on the Palm Pre itself. I also asked the mods after making my post about if "Deal Discussion" is the right place or if I should put it in "Off Topic" and they stated that this is where is belongs. So if you don't like it where it's at, take it up with the mods. |

My HTC Mogul died. I'm past my 2 years so I get a phone upgrade credit. What sucks, if I reorder the same phone or any pda phone, they will not allow me to stay on my $30 Sero plan. Pretty soon they'll make SERO planholders use rotary cell phones. |

Pretty soon they'll make SERO planholders use rotary cell phones. You're the second person to mention this. I can kind of see this happening, but when I went into the Sprint store last week, they offered to let me upgrade to any phone except the Pre and Instinct while keeping my original SERO plan. (My Moto Q9c was acting up.) I've heard that the issue occurs when attempting to upgrade online. Can anyone confirm that this is a problem in-store as well? |

sprintusers .c om has a huge forum dedicated to how to get past the garbage that sprint tosses in the way. If it can be done, check there. I know blackberries were getting on sero. |

Went to the store and they upgraded me to blackberry curve 8830. I came back home and found out that there is no browser icon in the phone. And many other features were missing!. I called the customer service and they told me that blackberry will required additional web plan and it will not work otherwise. Went back to store and returned the blackberry and now back on my HTC 6700. Thinking of buying a HTC Touch Pro from eBay and get it activated on my plan. |

Is there any touchscreen phone we can get for our sero plans? It seems like Sprint won't activate most of the touchscreen/pda phones with a sero plan... |

Apparently if you get a tattoo of Palm Pre, you will get it free. Linky I think I should post this in the "Fee Deals"... |

Well, if you consider Pre and Instinct as "most", then this post seems correct. Otherwise, you can activate Palm Pro, Palm Centro, Treo, HTC Touch, HTC Touch Pro, HTC Touch Diamond, any Blackberry and Samsung Ace. But that's nothing.... |

Which one is considered the best touchscreen cell phone for the bucks? Palm Pro, Palm Centro, Treo, HTC Touch, HTC Touch Pro, HTC Touch Diamond, any Blackberry and Samsung Ace?? A post on Sprintusers.com says that his blackberry couldn't access the internet with only his SERO plan, so he had to return his new blackberry... Also, where should we get an upgrade cell phone? Sprint local stores, Best Buy, Radio Shack? Which offers best deals and is SERO friendly? Thanks! |

Thanks! Diamond if you can live without a keyboard, Touch Pro if you cannot. If you are a smartphone rookie a Centro or Treo may be best... |

When I spoke to a CSR at Sprint who worked in retentions, she said that I could put the Blackberry on SERO if I bought a used one, I just wouldn't be able to do push email. Haven't tried it yet, though...and the CSRs in retentions seem WAY more capable and intelligent than the rest of the Sprint staff. |

i have activated a centro, a moto q9c, and a touch pro on my "family powerpack" which is a sero plan for 2 people as i was already a sprint customer when sero came out... all of these phones were purchased off of eBay, i saw that several members mentioned buying one off eBay then activating. Has anyone tried this? Prices are down to the $350 dollar range on the PRE and with CashBack its more like $315 or so. If you could activate the PRe via the internet, may be worth paying the few extra bucks to get it off eBay? i just dont want to make a $300 mistake! |

Yeah, not sure. I'd be more than happy to pony up a little over $300 on eBay if I could activate it on SERO... |
