I've become a big fan of Woot.com's bag of crap (and a similar deal I found on Graveyard Mall). It's not offered very often, and my friends and I are hoping to meet some people in the Baltimore area who would like to start a group that puts together and swaps boxes of stuff. If you're in the area, send me a message and we can chat about it.

In the meantime, does anyone know of any other sites that offer similar promotions? Thanks in advance!

This sounds really neat! I've googled the bag of crap in hopes of finding one offered... with no such luck!

I love this idea. Could you PM me the links?!

Thanks so much.

check dodtracker.com, some of the sites listed have mystery boxes.

Thanks Frugal Freak! I've not heard of that site before... I'll check it out.

I've read something similar in Garmin website. They have this game that you download the location of the 'treasure' and clues and use the GPS to go find it. And usually people trade the item. I don't rem the technical term though.

Think you are talking about geocaching, but really isnt the same thing as the OP is talking about.

There are tons of "mystery bag" or "grab bag" sites. This daily deal site aggregator shows them when they are active. And there's over 1,000 listings for "grab bag" on eBay. And This Site lets you subscribe to monthly "crap" for $9.99/mo. You will surely end up with a house full of crap.

This is generally stuff you wouldn't buy even if you saw it on 98% discount.
