New York E-ZPass ONLY charges the $1/month fee to the PANYNJ (Port Authority of New York and New Jersey) customers... HOWEVER both TBTA (Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority) and NYSTA (New York State Thruway Authority) will charge a (Monthly statement by mail) annual fee of $6 if you have your statements mailed to you. PDF (Terms and Conditions) and fees for NY E-ZPass Just as a side note if you drive a Toyota Prius, Honda Insight or Civic hybrid there is a 10% discounted GREEN E-ZPass available to NYSTA customers. There is also a $4 discounted rate available to all PANYNJ customers that drive the above mentioned vehicles when they use their tag at Port Authority crossings during off-peak hours. Ive been using the NYSTA green pass for a few years now and it has saved me quite a bit of money. |

Well assuming that you are referring to the Green pass program the pages that BOTH links bring you to clearly state how to go about signing up for it. The info on the site for the NYSTA green pass is at the bottom of the page and the info on the PANYNJ discount is given in question #10 titled (Q: How do I sign up for the new PA Green Pass Discount Plan?) in the middle of the page. |

For those switching from MD to VA...be careful. I was going to do the same thing to avoid the MD monthly fee, but I stopped. Maryland has a minimum replentishment amount of $20.00 (which has to be used within 45 days!!) VA has the same thing, but it is $35.00 minimum. So, you saving the $1.50 per month may not be worth the forfeiture of prepaid toll fees that you may not be using. I decided to pay the $1.50 in MD, and avoid forfeiture of potentially $10-$15 every few months. You may want to research this before you switch. |

I'm not saying you're necessarily wrong, abalto, but during the years I had a Maryland EZ Pass, I know there were many, many times when I didn't use $20 worth of tolls over a 45 day period, and I don't remember forfeiting any unused balance. So is it possible you're perhaps misinterpreting the way account replenishment works? At the very least, could you provide specific urls where this policy is described? -- Michael |

PA charges only $3 a year. A one-time deposit of $25, plus a $3 non-refundable annual service fee, is required for each assigned E-ZPass transponder. If a form of automatic replenishment is chosen, the deposit is waived. The deposit will be refunded to you, if you return the E-ZPass transponder in good working condition. No interest will be paid on account balances or deposits. Paper account statements are available for a monthly fee. Account statements are viewable on the web for no additional charge. Text |

Replenishment amount to be "used by ## days" only applies to commuter plans. For those of us who are on the standard plans, no such restriction applies. |

GW is $8 headed north and free headed south. I have a NY EZPASS but I'm not sure if there is a discount. |

Thanks for the post. Ohio plans on charging something like 40% higher for non-ezpass driver(starting sept), although I haven't seen that there is any real commitment to dedicated lanes for all toll plaza's. I am sure they will update the toll plaza's I frequent in 2020. I'd probably only use it 4-6 times a year anyway...so I might avoid the $6 annual fee (.50 monthly) by signing up else where. |

I have the Peace Bridge EZ-Pass (no fee), and I can confirm that I no longer get a discount on the Verrazano Bridge. I am now charged the full $11.00 for each toll. I looked at all 3 of the EZ-Pass options from the New York Service Center, and under "Fees", all three have: "PANYNJ monthly Account service fee $1.00" So now I have to choose between no monthly fee, or no discount on the VZ Bridge |

So now I have to choose between no monthly fee, or no discount on the VZ Bridge do you actually use the Peace Bridge pass on the Peace Bridge? There is a claim that after an extended period of time not using the pass on the Peace Bridge will result in account closure. |

Could you post a link to this claim, so that I might see who is making the claim and what the precise wording is? -- Michael Here you go Important Notice to EZPass Applicants outside of New York State and Canada : Thank you for considering enrolling in EZPass. We encourage you to join the millions of users who have benefited from the program. But, please enroll in the EZPass program where you intend to travel most.
