I called today trying to cancel my membership since the next billing date was supposed to be on 7/17, but the rep told me that they extended the free trial membership to 8/16. I asked why they kept changing the free trial ending date on me, but the rep couldn't give me a solid answer, just stating that it was a system error and my free membership is 'til 8/16. I just checked my account again now and it shows my next billing date is 8/17. Not sure if that's going to change again. I'm going to check my account everyday. |

I found it odd last night when I went to cancel that you have to call to cancel now...what? Then to boot, customer service was closed, so I had no way to cancel before the next (billing) day. |

My billing day is tomorrow and I don't know if I can make it to Blockbuster (to exchange my current DVD's) and back home before they close. I used a Citi virtual account number when I signed up, so my backup plan is to call contact Citi and ask them to cancel my VAN. I actually wouldn't mind paying them if the service wasn't so poor, but, they are very slow and their web site has lots of problems, so I have to quit. BTW: do you know what time customer service closes? |

Thank you, OP. I definitely appreciate your "heads up!" BTW, My "next payment date" shows 8/17, but in Account Activity, View Billing History, it shows that my CC was charged on 7/17. So for those who have been told by Customer Service that the free trial was extended, you might want to double check your Billing History page. |

Just clicked the cancel option in the top right corner of Subscription Plan, got another screen that asked if I wanted to change my subscription, and in small print under that was a "Just cancel" option. |

This is the most botched up handling of an online mistake. They could have let it be, let people have their three months and possibly keep a good portion of these customer. I was seriously considering it. But instead, BB burned a ton of hours in customer service and IT staff with with changing the billing dates, not even mentioning bad PR. And the result - closing the promo only a few weeks earlier. I hope it was worth it. Epic fail for BB. |

The prior 15 times that I've cancelled blockbuster, yes there was a online link to cancel. This past week I was not given the option..."To cancel your account, please call customer service at 1-866". It was 10pm. helixcool said:do you have to call them? |

d3a1ninja said:exactly why I use redbox and netflix on demand And even more reason to love my library. 10-MOVIES, 7 DAYS — multiplied by 3 LIBRARIES within 12 miles of my house + online catalog browsing = 100% free movies. Add Red Box for the (rare) occassions I can't wait to see the movie and I frankly have more movie selection than I have time to watch lol. TYTBUDGET |
