Since I will be going to study abroad for a while, I decided to get Ooma. I only used it for 10 minutes and so far, sound quality is very nice and clear. Moreover, there is no lag between conversations. I tried other VOIP before and there were lags between conversations.(even if you make a call in the same house, you still get 1-2 second lag). Anyway Ooma is very nice device and hopefully they will port my cellphone number (if not oh well..), so that I could use it in out-side of US. However, I'm also planning to buy Samsung's 30 mile range cordless phone. So that I could use Ooma like a cellphone. It does not seem so bad because it's only $300. Samsung 30 mile cordless home phone. Also, Ooma seems to slow down my internet connection. Response of the webpages been slower than before. Overall, I give 4.5 star out of 5. For the life time, you won't have to pay for the telephone fee and it works virtually anywhere in the world. |
