I loved my Magellan Mastro 4040 however, the placement of the chip is a design fault in this GPS. It pops out so easily and its located on the side. I have this GPS for three years and have absolutely no complaints or negatives about it. It always got me where I had to go without any problems. The sound was clear and redirected me very quickly if I made a changed direction or made a wrong turn. I am very dependent upon it.

My question is...Should I invest in another chip or purchase another newer model. I didn't use the AAA service or subscribe to the traffic info. I didn't need it. I would appreciate feedback quickly, I am moving to another county that I don't know at all.

Get a tomtom 140 (3.5") or 340 (4" wide)... Or for even less, a refurb XL-S (which has an SD slot)... All will be upgradable to the latest maps...

Or a Garmin...
