I am just about ready to pull the trigger on this but thought that I should check with those more informed than me whether this deal strategy seems sound or whether there's a way I might do better. My washing machine broke down once too often, and I've decided that the time for fixing it is over, and it's finally time to replace it. This purchase was unplanned and isn't really in the budget, but since my current machine is suddenly non-functional, I need to deal with it now. The purchase of the matching dryer will have to follow some other time. My current dryer, though mismatched, will work fine for now. My concern right now is buying a washing machine only. I have 10% moving coupons for Best Buy and Lowes. Don't think they're going to help me, though. I think I'll make out better online. But I thought I'd mention them if someone can figure out a way they could be used. Home Depot has all of their energy efficient washing machines on for 10% off (The discount for LG machines only shows up when you check out). Bing is giving 12% Cash Back on HomeDepot.com purchases. And I have an online coupon (summersave99) that gives $50 off $500+ purchases. Home Depot seems to have the lowest price locally so I don't think I can swing a price match. They offer free delivery and will cart away the old machine away for free too, and they sell a cheap ($99) 4-year warranty (which I will buy since I spent >$600 in repairs over the 4 years I owned my current machine). And if I open a Home Depot card, I can get free financing for 6 months, which will help me better deal with this unexpected expense. Bing is offering 12% Cash Back, which is awesome. But that $50 coupon is awfully nice too (it's about half the value of the Cash Back I'd get back from Bing). Has anybody tried to use a coupon with their HomeDepot.com purchase and had a problem with getting their CashBack approved through Bing? Since the Cash Back is worth more than the coupon, I'm trying to get a feel for how risky it would be to try using both - are my chances of losing the CashBack pretty high? Should I just be happy with getting 10% (sale) + 12% (Bing) off the price and not try to push my luck with the coupon too? Also, how is Home Depot's warranty? It's a third of the price of Sears' and half the price of Best Buy's. I'm wondering why the huge price difference. Does it not have as good coverage as the others'? Sears' includes some preventative maintenance appointments so I understand why their product might be a little more expensive - but 3 times the price? Does it offer better protection than say, Square Trade? Square Trade would cost only about $35 for 3 years (after coupon). I have to do some measuring and make sure there's enough height clearance, but I'll probably get a pedestal off Craigslist or eBay so I don't have to stoop (though if I have to, it's not the end of the world). I'll try to have it in hand at the time the washer is delivered so the delivery guys can hopefully help me make sure it's as level as possible. Can anyone think of anything I've missed? I did check to see if the upcoming Sears Friends & Family event would be a better deal. Because Sears charges a mint for delivery and their warranty, and they quote a slightly higher "regular price" for their brand name washing machines than other retailers do (the F&F discounts are all based on the regular price of their items), I've found that all the add-ons easily eliminate any price advantage. This Home Depot deal still seems to come out ahead in the end.
