It's not future, it's effective now. I just called up and was able to get it put on my account effective 12/10. Why so far in advance? Because it would have taken away my $30/mo discount that I have right now from my initial FiOS signup. However, it did allow me to keep my $5/mo for 24 month discount.
I guess I should have taken the $150 gift card instead of $30/mo for 6 months when I signed up, but who knew.

Personally, I think a new thread should be created to discuss it for existing customers. And this one should be closed, if for no other reason than the really useless title.
