A lot of hype with this, and it was officially announced today by Motorola and Verizon Wireless that the Droid will be released on Friday, Novemeber 6th. The price is going to be $199 AFTER a $100 MIR and with a 2 year contract. I called VW Sales a few minutes ago and they are not doing pre-orders. According to "Dave", there shouldn't be an issue getting one on release date. This is the everyday price, so obviously it doesn't belong in HD forum, but felt it was worthy of DD. Fortunately I'm eligible for my $100 phone upgrade right now.
So $299 without the rebate... I will look for the reviews a couple of months after release. I might dump my blackberry tour for it in January. I dont really care for the Blackberry.
yeah, $299 without. i had the voyager but i kept having issues so insurance upgraded me to the env touch. the software for it is horrible, and they haven't done a thing to improve all the bugs associated with it. plus battery life is horrible. it's the first version 2 android phone so hopefully things will get rolling even more with the android market. i dont see the iphone making it's way to verizon in the immediate future.
My contract with AT&T is up on the 20th of November so I'll be getting this phone on the 21st. Any advantages to buying this phone from verizon versus LetsTalk?
