I know there are a number of folks out there tracking the deals on Panasonic Plasma TVs, so I thought I'd create a thread to keep track of all the deals in one place. Not everything posted here has to be the best deals, I just figured it would be useful to have a place to keep track of prices. Even if a deal seems only so-so, someone else may know of a coupon or CashBack deal that would make it great!

Here's some of the research I've been doing on some of the models I'm considering:

*edit 11/2 to fix Sears prices

Thanks for posting your extensive research you have done!! I am looking at a few of these as well and your post is a tremendous help.

Need to revise Sears deal prices, it looks like right now the Sears CC 5/10% off is only in store so no way to combine with Bing. Makes safeway GC deal look even better.

Sears is running 5% off TVs for online orders, will update first post to reflect.

No V10 series?

Or 54G10 and 58G10?

That may be, but they're Panasonic plasmas I'm looking at. Mind adding the size (42" - 50") to the thread title? This is on the front page, so a generic thread title will get people looking for more than what this thread has.

The prices are falling fast, so your blood might like what it finds. Especially factoring in Cash Back, because 5% back on $2k is more $$ than 5% back on 600.

I just bought a TC-P54S1 from Amazon for $1262 with free shipping. Great set, even better price.

I'd be happy to add info for the models you mention if you can post the prices. I just don't have the bandwidth to do the research on models I'm not considering right now Otherwise I can make this thread more 42-50 centric, and let someone else handle the bigger sets.

is it necessary to limit this to 42-50? I think it would be more beneficial if it just encompassed all panasonic plasmas

steinauf said: is it necessary to limit this to 42-50? I think it would be more beneficial if it just encompassed all panasonic plasmas

I'm fine with that, I just can't keep up with any more models than I'm currently tracking. If others want to share their data on other models in this thread that would be great, I'll add it to the first post.

Cool post- I'm a huge fan of plasmas. Panasonic makes some good ones. If you have little more $$ I just got a pioneer krp-500m 50" plasma last week and I have already had sex with it 10 times...

Updated a few minor price changes on Amazon.

The pioneer looks awesome! I'm really trying to get stay in the $600-800 range, so I'm leaning toward the p50s1. However, as the P50G10/15s flirt with sub $1k they are tempting me a bit. What can I say, I'm a sucker for THX. Even bought those silly THX monster cables. Good thing I watch FatWallet and got them at a Sears F&F for something insane like 90% of

Rob

Should probably consider the p54s1 if it gets down into the $1k range over the p50g10... Dang, guess I've got to add that now.

Added P54S1 and a little data for the P54G10 to capture the Sears BF deal.

P50X1 back at Dell, $799 = $745 AC ACB added above

Not currently tracking this older model, but WalMart will have the P46U1 for $788 on 11/7. Not super hot, but not bad IMHO. Should be able to get the newer 46" or 50" S1 for about the same money if you are willing to jump through some hoops.

http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/964464/?start=0

Looks like Amazon now has free BD60 with all G10 and S1 series, and free BD80 with P58S1 or P65S1. Adding to first post.

http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/964633/

Another older model I'm not tracking, but here's a P42C1 for $499. Again not bad, but not great. Can get the newer X1 for the same or less, but requires some hoop jumping. Not a bad price for just walking in off the street, and certainly not a bad set.

http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/964650/

what's the deal with this "safeway GC" -- like, where do i get a 13% gift certificate to use at Sears? i'm not really getting that piece of these deals ....

You can buy Sears gift cards at safeway and get a $10 coupon for each $75. Most folks have been able to use the $10 coupons to buy more gift cards. $10 off 75 is 13.33%. Sorry I'm on my phone and don't have the thread link, it's in hot deals.

Can you pay off your Sears Card with Sears gift cards from safeway?

They are just regular Sears gift cards, my understanding is you can't use them to pay on your Sears card. That would be nice though.

Ok waiting for Sears F&F on 11/15 then.

Note that the safeway deal ends 11/7, so anyone hoping to use them for F&F or BF will need to stock up in cards this week.

Is the Amazon TC-P50S1 $999 with BD60 BR player deal still going?

I tried to order the Panasonic 50 inch plasma tv with the free blu-ray and it did not register as being free at checkout so I did not order it.

The 10% for using the Sears CC still works online for me. Anyone know if I can buy the P54G10 from Sears now, and then pricematch it on BF?

Whenn I went thru Bing it said only 2 percent Cash Back, then the flash page said between 2-8 percent.

How do I know it is 8 percent? Does Cash Back vary by time of day.

"Things to Watch:
Sears BF Doorbuster 42": $650 + tax, if online maybe -8% (bing CB) -13% (safeway GC) = $520 + tax"

How does one shop on-line on Black Friday? Do you have to log on and shop at 6:00 am? Won't they be sold out? Does black thursday eve count?

jetmoose said: How does one shop on-line on Black Friday? Do you have to log on and shop at 6:00 am? Won't they be sold out? Does black thursday eve count?

It totaly depends on the store. In the last year or two many BF deals have also been offered online, often starting at midnight. Even if they don't end up offering it online, you could still use the giftcard deal, just not the Cash Back. That's part of what makes the GC deal so compelling in my mind, it stacks with anything and you get 13% off your tax too.

mdivino said: I tried to order the Panasonic 50 inch plasma tv with the free blu-ray and it did not register as being free at checkout so I did not order it.

I had the same issue, we'll have to watch that thread and see whats going on.

If you go to Bing (not Bing shopping, just Bing) and search for Craftsman or Kenmore, you should get a pretty reliable 8% link.

I called their customer service last night and they were unable to help me. I sent Amazon an email and I will let you know what they say.

Well I just bought a TV Now I have 30 days to decide whether or not that was a good idea. At least that covers through Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

I have to say this is a huge YMMV, but here is how it shook out:

Shopping at Sears.com, decided to check out the new "Outlet" tab since we have a local Sears Appliance Outlet that carries TVs. The outlet web page was pretty useless last time I checked it, but it seems somewhat improved. It apparently now shows not only whats at the Appliance Outlet, but clearance products at the retail stores. I put in my local stores, and searched for Plasmas. Nothing came up for less than $999 so I was about to close the page, when I noticed that one of the TVs at $999 was a P54G10

Went down to see it last night, its a floor model but looks nice. Went to safeway this morning and bought giftcards. Went to Sears and had the $25 and $75 giftcards combined into $250 cards. Went back to electronics with my Macbook, and put a bunch of 1080p and 720p material through it. The settings were a bit wonky, but with a little tweaking it already looked pretty amazing. Build date is April 2009, hours in the service meter are 446. Chatted up the sales rep a bit. In the end I agreed to buy a 3 year warranty (which of course I can cancel for a refund), he agreed to help me get the 10% Sears card discount if I put the after gift card balance on the Sears card.

Panasonic P54G10, 54" 1080p, THX Certified, floor model w/446 hours

List price: $1999.99
Current Sears.com Price: $1699.99
Current Amazon Price: $1589.80
Sears BF price: $1499.99

Floor Model Price: $999.99
Heros Charity Donation: $1
Sears Card Discount:-$99.99
3 YR MPA: $439.99
sales tax 7.8%: $70.20

TTL OTD: $1,411.13
Return MPA: -$439.99
Final TTl: $971.14
safeway GC discount: -$129.49

Net TTl: $841.65

Pretax Equivalent: $780.75

Not the set I was looking for (figured I'd end up with a 42S1 or a 50X1, maybe a 50S1), but clearly a deal I couldn't say no to

I'll still try and keep up this page based on posted deals, as I do still have 30 days to change my mind, but probably won't be doing as much hard looking.

Rob

the 42" G10 sold for $759 on Newegg? Is that for real?

I bought this for a little less that $1000 last April when it first came out. I pricematched it twice (before and after I bought it), couldn't get the 3% CB because I was on the phone with the salesguy and wanted me to buy it on the spot telling me that he could not guarantee the PM if I buy it online. I also had a $200 rebate if I buy a TV stand along with it which I got for free that I also PMed (brought the $387 price down to $289). There was a scratch on the bigger (bottom) glass shelf but Omnimount sent me a new shelf while the vendor (after some negotiations) agreed to refund $100 of the cost. I came out $11 ahead with the rebate.

esquire415 said: the 42" G10 sold for $759 on Newegg? Is that for real?

I can't prove that at the moment. When I was putting the thread together I tried to do a quick sweep through the site for each model to find the best deals that people had gotten just to try and get some perspective on the current deals. Having a quick look back, I'm not sure where that particular number came from.

Well, seems like the Amazon BD60 deal isn't happening so for now I'm taking it back off the first post.

Skipping 126 Messages...

This would definitely be YMMV but last week I bought my Panasonic TCP54V10 (yes, the 54 inch model) for $1798 + tax from Brandsmart USA in Atlanta. This was more than $400 lower than the cheapest I found anywhere else. Even in their circular it is being advertised as on sale for $2288 but when I went to the TV dept they had a sales tag next to it for $1798! Not an open box, or refurbished...brand new.
