Based on past experience, it will not be out till Thursday before the BF

What? fry's has a BF sale every year, including last, i know, it was cold. They just print their ad in the actual paper instead of using an insert.

i worked at fry's last yr. and they did have a black friday. i worked long hours. their ad comes out in the paper on Thanksgiving Day and the days thereafter.
Some of the longest, persistent BF lines is at Frys (at least in San Diego) - well in to the afternoon - and there are ALWAYS some good deals. If that is your thing, get there on Tuesday or Wednesday, and have someone bring you the newspaper ad just before opening - I wouldn't bother otherwise.
As sher64 suggests, they continued posting one-day sales in the Saturday and Sunday paper, some with some pretty good deals, without having wait in incredibly long lines.

But the only thing I can tell you about Fry's Sale. The line will be VERY LONG.

Absolutely true.Their locations are so limited and their online inventory is so limited. It is easy to sell things cheaper than the other retailers when you don't have any (online) or only sell a limited amount.
Fry's ad is printed by the newspapers not an outside agency like other companies ad. So that way the ad is not leaked earlier because the newpapers rep will be on the line. That is why every year it doesnt come out until late Wednesday night at the earliest when they print the papers for thanksgiving. Not even store employees know until Wednesday night (or if they deal with the stock room) whats going to be on sale unless they are like store managers.

I live within walking distance of both stores, and in the past five years I've made hundreds of visits to Fry's and maybe 8-10 visits to BB.
