My husband uses this site all the time, so I figured I would turn to you all to ask about a computer deal (it is for him as a surprise gift). Is this a good deal? Best Buy and HP are going one step further than just offering deal on a single machine and have decided to offer a “PC Home Makeover” deal.
The package consists of the following devices:
HP Slimline desktop model s5212y (w/ Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor Windows 7 Home Premium, 3GB Memory, 320GB HD) HP 18.5-inch widescreen monitor HP laptop model G60-535DX (w/ Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor Windows 7 Home Premium, 3GB Memory, 320GB HD, 2hrs 45 min battery, and 15.6" widescreen) HP Mini netbook (w/ Windows 7, 1GB memory, 160GB HD, 8 hrs battery, and 10.1" widescreen) Netgear Wireless-G router
All for $1199

One good powerful notebook like a Core2Duo deal is better than all these small performers. That may cost around $599-799 on a good deal.
The monitor is small and not worth getting. 20-22" ones can be regularly found on good deals. The Dual Core is not that high of a performance of a processor (as can be seen in Intels own star ratings ). 320GB is not that much hard drive on a desktop computer. The netbook is a light duty performer.
At 2hrs and 45 minutes of notebook battery, the notebook comes with a small battery too.
