We just bought a new home in the Bay-area,CA and would like to replace the old carpet. As first time home owners, we are totally clueless on good brands and deals locally.. 1.What is a good brand? (something would last for the next 4-5 years without much staining and is practical in a house with kids) 2.Where can we go for a good deal (including installation). Any/All suggestions welcome..
Try Lowes or HomeDepot..I went in and they assured me that they will install your pad and carpets for the WHOLE HOUSE for $39...IF you buy your carpets from them... Their pad and carpets looks reasonable in price.

You usually get what you pay for with HD and Lowes. Try searching Yelp.com in your area for reputable carpet stores.
