dv9700t trade-in -- Buy?

Hey Everyone, just asking for some advice.

I'm in my 2nd 1/2 year of owning a HP dv9700t and am looking in the market to buy either a dv8t or a dv6t laptop.

I have a buyer that will purchase it for $500, no questions asked. I hear that HP laptops have a good 3-year life-span before hardware failure sets in. I do play games on there, with some frequency and the laptop is still in excellent condition with no scratches or dents; I'm wondering if I should bite and sell it before it becomes unsalvagable.

Does $500 for my dv9700t sound like a good deal?
