I made a legit purchase on eBay through bing, was told i would get my 8%, didnt use any other coupon. got an email from microsoft that cb is denied, all my arguments did not help. be aware when buying somewhere ONLY because its cheaper because of bing cb.
true. I'm fighting Bing to get them to recognize some Drugstore purchases - even though they sent me the CashBack confirmation emails, the CashBack is nowhere to be found in my account.

Is this story true? Haven't tried it myself yet, but it seems very fishy if true...
I have a long chain of about 15 emails. but this is the last:
Hello ------,
My name is Jetrho, I will be assisting you with Service Request 1116113552 regarding your CashBack.
After further research we are unable to apply CashBack savings for this eBay purchase. In working with eBay and PayPal, we determined that this purchase is not eligible for Bing CashBack savings. Per the program terms, eBay determines eligibility of purchases and you will not earn CashBack rewards on purchases where the store (eBay) does not report the purchase to Microsoft. We have taken extra steps to confirm with eBay and PayPal that program terms have not been met. This entailed submitting your item number to eBay for review which confirmed you will not earn CashBack for this purchase.
Thank you, ------, for contacting Bing CashBack Customer Support.
In almost all cases, when people on FW talk about using Bing CashBack, they are not talking about using bing shopping. Bing shopping may or more likely may not get you the best deal. What most fatwalleters are using are the bing CashBack advertising links found in regular non-shopping bing searches. IE go to bing.com, search "craftsman" and click on the bing CashBack icon next to the Sears ad that comes up. Now you are prompted to log into bing CashBack, and then redirected to the regular Sears website. Now you can search for and buy almost anything with 8% CashBack. If you went through bing shopping, you would get between 2-8% CashBack depending on what you purchased, and you are linking into the item directly from bing which creates the possibility for pricing issues by linking to the wrong page or listing as shown above.
The system normally works fine. When it doesn't, bing is usually very good about fixing it. On occasion, there have been reports of problems, but almost always related to some violation of the terms & conditions, (ie use of coupon, not using the right payment method etc) or in some other way not following the instructions. FWIW I've used bing at a lot of vendors over the past year, and every single one has come through. On only one occasion did I have to send an email, and it was immediately rectified.
Bing shopping, like all price crawlers, is prone to having stale data and/or linking you to something other than the best possible deal. While the above example may very well have been true (its not now, bing still shows $742 for butterfly, but when you click through it shows $699 at butterfly), but you'd have to be a little dumb to just click on a vendor that says $742 and buy it when the same search result brought up results as low as $663 ACB. Most FWers I would hope know enough to shop around a bit instead of just blindly clicking on a link because some automated crawler told them it was the best deal (or in this case wasn't).
FWIW I think you have to keep in mind that the article posted above from "Bountii" is from a competing price search engine site, who obviously has something of an axe to grind with MS. Inaccuracies abound in all price crawlers, because they are fully automated. Implying that their is some sort of army of Microsoft employees out there setting up special traps to catch people in with "negative CashBack" and thus further their plan of world domination is pretty lame.
I'm a mac guy, so I'm certainly no MS fan, but talk about sour grapes.
WAIT!!! MSFT may be guilty of a lot, but not the Vixia thing! I just checked this and I think its a case of the reported price on the Bing shopping link being old. If you click through to the Butterfly Photo page, it comes up at the same $699!!
myhotrs said: If you click through to the Butterfly Photo page, it comes up at the same $699!! It does today because they fixed it. I tried it yesterday, and it came up at $758.
But I actually agree that this is not specifically Microsoft's fault. Sites like Butterfly Photo are clearly using the source of your click as an input into the price displayed.

OP, what was the reason they cx CashBack? I did have a problem with bing once with Drugstore.com but all of my eBay purchases went through with no problem. Was there a refund involved or something?
I had my problems with Bing. I purchased through Barnes and Noble. I got no confirmation email from Bing. On cotacting they said they would research and sent me an email saying B&N will not approve Bing CashBack...whatever that menas. Even with my OD purchases they kept me going in circles. I tink this will become more prevalent as more and more people go through Bing CashBack.
My Bing experience has been excellent, overall. I too have missing CashBack from Drugstore.com, but I believe that is not Bing's fault, rather Drugstore not reporting properly.
My biggest single Bing CashBack is $875 from Abes Of Maine on the purchase of my Sony Bravia 52" HDTV.
Take your time, log in properly, and be sure to launch to your merchant from Bing. You should be successful. Also, use the Microsoft internet explorer rather than Firefox or Opera, just so there are no browser-based issues.
I have read here and elsewhere that people have had trouble getting their Bing CB for their Barnes & Noble purchases. I'm getting ready to place a large order, and was planning to use Bing, but if there's a chance I won't get my CB, I'll just go with tried-and-true FW and get a few percent less... but not have to worry about whether or not I'll receive it.
I haven't placed my order yet, because I was hoping that BN.com will be one of the sites that Bing will be promoting on BF with a higher CB rate, but now I'm wondering if a higher percentage matters -- a higher percentage of zero in my Bing account is still zero!

My issue is with Best Buy 10% Bing CB. I went to Bing, searched for "Macbook Pro", clicked on the Bing CB link, the window popped up saying I was going to get 10% CB, and I made a BB purchase (It wasn't a Macbook Pro, but I don't think that matters).
So far I've purchased from about 5 or 6 retailers with BCB. So far I got 10 percent from TigerDirect and 5% from J&R Music. The TigerDirect CB took a while to make into my BING account but the J&R showed up in less than two days. I'm waiting on 15% from a WalMart.com purchase and two 20% CB deals from Dell. Also waiting for one from Buy.com. This one has me a little concerned since it was from one of their marketplace vendors.
I'm gonna just stick with tried and true FW CB. Over the last week and a half, I went through Bing to make several purchases, and to date only the cheapest purchase I made (<$50) has received any BCB. I sent in a ticket for each of my purchases, but i'm definately NOT holding my breathe!
I've never had this issue with FW CB ! Screw Bing and their mommas!
Bing CashBack has been a complete nightmare for me. I normally use FW, but their double Bing CashBack was too great a lure. I made purchases through a dozen different stores using Bing and didn't receive a dime CashBack. I've submitted tickets for each instance and haven't heard anything from their support. Most of the items I purchased are still sitting unopened in their shipping boxes. If Bing fails on the CashBack, I'm sending most of this back as I purchased them based on the final price after Bing.
I searched around on the web and read that many, many people are having the same experience. They used the Bing CashBack, never received their CashBack and when they submitted their problem tickets, they were told that the Bing system had no record of them using the service and they are denied their CashBack.
Bing does have a forum that is just about impossible to find, but you can post your issue there and one of the Bing employees will send your issue up for escalation. For what good that will do, but it is worth a shot. In just the couple of days I have been reading their forums, I have seen multiple threads and posts deleted by the Bing staff for content where users laid out exactly how they were being scammed and denied their legitimate CashBack.
3 Bing CashBacks MIA as of today. I'm sure there are more to come as I go through my receipts. Two orders last week from Newegg and one from Best Buy never put any CB in my Bing account. Back they go! I ain't screwin' with it any more than a return...
Today I got one more (Buy.com)of the several BCB's I'm expecting. Waiting on one from WalMart and Dell. If the Dell one doesn't come through, I might still keep the item because they still had the lowest price. But saving $130 would be better! Obviously.
I was about to make another purchase at WalMart but the bing link won't come up. Neither does the Dell. That's not good.
i dont know...i've used bing Cash Back a handful of times in just the last couple days and each time i've received my bing email within 24 hours. on one WalMart purchase, i received the bing cb email before the WalMart confirmation. so far, no complaints...
eBay said: # Search for an eBay.com item on www.bing.com. # Click on an eBay.com sponsored advertisement on www.bing.com that has the CashBack icon a gold circle with a dollar sign, next to the advertisement. When you click on the advertisement, you will begin an online session. Sponsored advertisements typically appear at the top or along the right hand side of the page of a www.bing.com search results page in a shaded or colored area of the page. # Purchase an eligible eBay.com Buy-It-Now item using PayPal within 60 minutes of the time you began the online session. CashBack Rewards will apply only to the first eligible item you commit to buy during an online session. You may make only one qualifying purchase per online session.
I followed those exactly, and I did get a CashBack mail in my messages in my eBay account.
Clicking on the 'get CashBack' link in the mail did create an entry in my bing Cash Back account.
Before I clicked on the link, there was no indication at all that I would be getting the CashBack, so I thought it wasn't going to happen.
They say it can take up to 60 days for the CashBack to actually arrive (and when it does it will be sent to your paypal account)
For my Dell purchase, the CashBack email arrived within 48 hours of the confirmation email from Dell.
Purchased contact lenses via bing and Drugstore.com, which advertised 25%. Got redirected to VisionDirect.com from the Drugstore.com website, and no CB showed up. When I questioned it, they researched and said that the merchant denied the CB, with no recourse. Is it my fault that Drugstore.com was running the CB and farmed out their contact lens sales to VisionDirect?
Well this stinks. I keep reading people getting notifications within minutes or hours and I've gotten no response from Dell or WalMart or Bing support (other than the initial response asking for documentation of my purchases). It's been 5 days for WalMart and 3 days for the Dell purchases. The one from Dell is about $150 BCB. I might get stuck with the purchases from Dell because Dell says they might charge a restocking fee (not 100%) plus return shipping will wipe out the savings.

I already did that over a day ago. I've figured out how to search my browser history to find the links from bing to Dell and WalMart. If needed, I can send them those to show that I did click through bing to get to Dell and WalMart.

Thanks. I just sent that info to them. Hopefully that will help.
Last night I placed two more orders from WalMart (can be returned if necessary). One from Chrome and one from IE6. The orders were placed within minutes of each other and I received a CashBack notice for both within 30 minutes. Hopefully Bing support will be able to decipher the information I gave them and credit me my CashBack for my previous WalMart and Dell orders.
I just placed an order with TigerDirect and they have 12.8% CB. The CB showed up instantly in my account after I clicked on a link on the order confirmation page. Excellent!
