As most of us that follow Fatwallet realize, the better and easier deals to get came a few weeks ago from many stores, especially electronics. I've camped out for a number of Black Fridays in the past years and found the deals have diminished in their true value each year with this year being the worst deals I've seen. The stores drew in people with some loss leaders during September and October, but seem to be hoping the shoppers will simply be in line this week out of pure tradition and therefore haven't really brought prices down in as great a way as they did in the past. I'm not blaming them as times are tough and they know they can't afford to lose too much.
I, for one, will not be in line nor shopping this Friday. Any resellers out there that normally would stand in line all night, get the great doorbuster deals and then resell them on eBay will be greatly disappointed in their next to nothing profit margin especially due to the much higher listing fees than what was experienced in past years. I'm not trying to create a debate on the ethics of reselling property that a person has bought, but just making an observation.
I get the feeling that retailers have stretched out the blowout sales. Maybe they realize more and more people have to pay with cash/debit cards. I also feel this will be a pivotal year for even more retailers who live in the balance of how this years sales go. I suspect we'll see another round of closures next spring.
Indeed the days of flipping a BF doorbuster on FeeBay is over.
Then again, I look at my shopping list and realize I am not alone. My shopping list is an empty page.... matches my wallet. There won't be any gift giving this year.

if people are only there to re-sell on eBay they deserve to be screwed over and stuffer in the cold
I'll be stopping by stapl3s at opening for a keyboard+far items coupon/rebate combo type deal. It's a location with a best buy right next to it so I can laugh at the people in line
i thought it wasnt as good as previous years but i still got some really good stuff.... a lot of blu-ray movies... the fast a furious trilogy blu-rays from WalMart for 5.50 each and then bing CashBack to go with it... some movies from Amazon...underworld...all the 3 of them, and transformers 2 for 13... got a acer laptop from Newegg...the as3810 with the 500gb hd and 4gb ddr3 ram for 495 after bing CashBack....price went up to 650 pre-bing CashBack... as BB got the Sony vaio with blu-ray drive, 320gb hd and 4gb ddr3 ram blu-ray and earbuds for around 470 after bing CashBack... and i didnt have to wait in the cold! so i thought it was good
