I read somewhere online that WalMart sales are gonna start at 3am? And there are a few other stores that are also gonna start earlier...Is this true? Don't wanna get there at 4 and miss everything! Thanks.
I read somewhere online that if I forward an email to ten people, Bill Gates will give everyone a new car.

haha. Very funny! I'm serious.... i got an email from this black fri site i'm on today that said that... They have been sending me emails all week when new ads are released. I have no reason NOT to believe it, just not sure
this is what it said
"We just wanted to send over a quick update on what to expect tonight going into Black Friday. First, Best Buy has announced that they are putting their Black Friday items for sale online tonight starting around 1:00am EST - 2:00am EST (Thanksgiving morning). Some retailers will be putting their Black Friday items online even earlier. The sale times include:
* Newegg.com sale starting at 6:00pm EST (Wednesday) * Sam's Club sale starting at 11:00pm EST (Wednesday) * Sears sale starting at 9:00pm EST (Wednesday) * WalMart Thanksgiving Day Specials starting at 3:00am EST (Thanksgiving) * WalMart Black Friday sale starting at 3:00am EST (Black Friday) * toys r us Black Friday sale starting at 12:01am EST (Thanksgiving) * OfficeMax Black Friday sale starting at 8:00am EST (Thanksgiving) * Target, Kohls, JC Penney, and other Black Friday sales will begin on Thanksgiving morning.
Some of the Black Friday sales have even started already! The biggest sales going on right now are from Amazon.com, Dell, and MacMall. As we mentioned before, Amazon.com is releasing new deals every day this week and today's featured deal is a LG BD270 Blu-ray Disc Player for $99.99."
It's longer but that's the part i had questions on
that doesn't really make any sense. So if you are in NYC the deals start at 3AM, but midnight in California? Wouldn't they start at the same time per time zone?

I don't really know... that's why I came here and asked. I'm not sure if this is true. Has anyone else heard this? Or should I go by the 5am time?

The email seems to be about *online* sales and their hours. Physical store opening hours are as shown in the adscans.
Wal Mart may vary by each location. Some people are saying you will be allowed to put the sale items in your cart but cannot pay until 5am. Or, they will hand out tickets a bit before 5am to those in line for specific items. Or, you can line up at the pallet of any specific item and wait til 5am. It's all gonna be an expiriment after last year's tragedy and I would almost think there could be a repeat this year because it seems very unorganized with Wal Mart being open 24 hours. Best of luck to those who try for the sale.
Either way, I'm hoping for big fights again this year.

In my area (in the deep south) I was told by our WalMart mgr. that people will line up in the designated areas for the item they want to purchase. They will be give a ticket at 5AM (first come first serve). They will pay for the item that the coupon is for and then receive their item. I was also told it was one ticket per person and children who were not old enough to pay for the item on their own could not get a coupon.

I was wondering about the online start time for the sales also. I am pretty darn tired, but I want to get some stuff on there, so I am going to set my alarm for 10:45 PM CST to see if it starts at Midnight EST.
You know the best thing to do is call your local WalMart. That's what I did and they told me that some of the all day Friday deals will start tonight at midnight. And the 5am deals will start at.... 5am.

i went to WalMart just now. everything is on sale starting on that bf ad page 24 and all the other items won't be released until 5am. There were designated area for ppl to line up in the store already.
My local WalMart won't let you get anything on the add until 5am per a store manager, I was looking for the Belkin wireless N router and they had it shrink wrapped in a cardboard display in a center isle.
