Cyber Monday is, and has always been, an urban legend. It was started by people who missed BF sales and thought that if they started this rumor, retailers would buy into it and have online sales equivalent to BF B&M sales. No one ever did. A few retailers knew this was only a legend and took advantage of people by saying they were having a Cyber Monday sale, but sold everything at the regular price and often times at a higher price because people believed there actually was a Cyber Monday sale and thought they were getting a deal. Sucker Monday is more like it.

What he said.

Shucks, I was looking forward to a Cyber Monday, even got the day off.

I've worked for two different national retailers, and I can verify that Cyber Monday is, in fact, real. We always offered special online-only deals on post-Thanksgiving Monday. Is it as big a deal as Black Friday? No, but it's worth checking out the deals that are being offered.

If they aren't even equal to Black Friday deals, then this year, that means not even worth looking at since Black Friday was pathetic this year!

Black friday deals have been pathetic the last 2 years. Most likely because everything is already marked so low.

just look online and decide for yourself if cybermonday is real....you will find good deals all year long if your patient and keep checking these forums

Actually, the phrase "cyber monday" was coined because online retailers noticed a major uptick in online sales after the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The fact that the deals are better or worse than any other time of the year has nothing to do with the fact that this Monday is a major shopping day for online retailers. With that said, most major online retailers take advantage of the fact that it's a busy day and for competitive reasons usually offer some great deals. About mid december is actually the busiest time for online shopping as well as in store shopping as people are up against time to get their gift shopping done.

Whether or not there are, in the larger sense, BF level deals on CM, I ordered four HP computers on BF only to have them reduced in price $50 on CM. I was able to get HP Home to make an adjustment, but the new price was 10% lower than it had ever been before. That could be the eventual price drop that hits all computers, but seems more likely an actual special for an 'on-line only' vendor that might have planned to capture the flush of business BF starts for a few days longer.

NO WAY!!! Cyber Monday is a legend and I've been waiting in line at Amazon.com since Saturday morning!?!? If only I had known...
