I want to buy something at S-taples with a coupon I will buy online. I know they have a "buy on line, ship to store" option. But if the store has the item in stock, is it likely they will email me a confirmation for same day pickup? Or do online orders come from a different inventory that really does need to ship to store and take an extra day or two?
I know I can order online and have item delivered to my home next day, but I need (want) the item today.
In my experience with Staples, when I order online for in-store pickup, even though they have the item in stock at the store, they make me wait 2 days until it's physically delivered from the website stock.
== They have a price match policy with their own website, so the store will match their online price. When I discovered that, my practice of ordering for in-store pickup became pointless for me (because I was only doing it because the prices were cheaper online).
So, can you use your online coupon in the store by just giving them the numbers of the code? (I probably am not understanding the logistics of it - maybe it's something you need physical proof of...)

They did that to me too, only it was shipped to the store & they made me wait for it to get there before I could pick it up. I don't know if it was in stock at the store, but I'm pretty sure it was.

Thanks for the responses. Nantucket, I don't think I can verbally give a code to a B&M employee and have it work, maybe somebody else has done it? Dunno. Anyway, I appreciate the benefit of your experiences. Sounds like I can't do a true "order online, pick up in store". Dang.

My Staples won't accept a verbal code but if I bring a print out that says 'online only' they accept that.
