Need good cheap way to call Russia, not Moscow or St. Petersburg...calling Tomsk/Seversk, Siberia (IT Center of Russian Federation). I was using Speedypin card, but the service is not as good it used to be,connection problems, other, and they would not refund but a tiny amount. So can anybody make suggestion? I call from landline.
The calling card prices are so low everywhere, that the only difference between providers is call quality, customer service and convenience.
I use Continental Card for 4.5 cents/minute (no connection, or any other charges). It's not the cheapest, but I been using it for many years and never had any issues. I know people who use Bizon. It's 3.9/min, also no fees, but I have not used it myself. You can also call Russia from other countries using local dial-in numbers. I find it very convenient while traveling.
Da She is from city where climate emails were released. It is IT Center of Russia. She is Developer and Math Expert, city Tomsk/Seversk is near 1/2 Students. She teaches computer. Her Father was Nuclear Engineer. Much interesting about Russia. FATWALLETERS could learn a few things from there.
I was using Speedypin, but service went downhill, and they didn't offer me enough minutes back to make it right in my opinion. I use Magic Jack, but cos I am too CHEAP to pay full for W7, I am on Linux Mint 8 until I find a deal on a new Lappy with W7 and Magic Jack isn't ready for Linux yet.
I will look at Localphone. I tried BIZON just now, so far it is better than SpeedyPin. Direct US # takes place of Russian # or #'s. Can still use PIN also if need. I think it is about $.05 min. Is cheaper to Moskva or St. Pete, higher to mobile. I think it has more options than the Speedypin Gemini card.
My fiance has been using Google Voice to call her relatives in Kirensk and Irkutsk. It's 4c/min to landline, and 6c/min to mobile phones. Pluses are no connection fee, excellent availability, and clear audio. It's also much easier than dealing with calling cards because you simply add money to your account. Making calls is pretty simple-- just call your Google Voice number from your landline or cell phone, punch in your PIN, and dial the number.
