I am currently with Verizon. I am not under contract. I pay around 35 bucks with tax for 300 min. No text. Does any one know of better deal? I hardly go over 300 min. I like the phone I have. It's by Verizon VX6700. I know it's old phone but I like it because it has wifi ability without having to get data plan. Any one know if I can use same phone on diff network or with diff company who has better deal? I get text rarely from ppl who don't know I have to pay for each text.
I forgot to mention that I get 35 bucks because hubby has Verizon from his work and they give 17% discount because of that. Hubby is thinking about changing job so if that happens I will have to pay more I think.

I don't know about UTStarcom it says Verizon on my cellphone but I think they may be same thing. I checked Google and yes it's same thing.

Try Net10 . For $30 you get 60 days of service with 300 minutes and nationwide LD. The minutes roll-over. Activation is free and they give you 300 extra minutes for free on first-time activation. However, I have to warn you about their customer service, they are simply terrible. You can even get a basic phone for free. They are always having sales. Search FW for deals.

No, you'll get to keep the discount as long as you don't tell Verizon he quit. They don't check.
I would port to pageplus, if you buy $80 cards(lasts 4 months) you get 2k mins. So for $20 a month you can get 500 min a month(no nights weekends or texts included) or $30 month for 1200 text\ 1200 min. No addl taxes.

How do you get 2,000 mins for $80? 2x $50 (1,000 min voice card) = $100

Just FYI, they don't check on your employment status. It is however, your responsibility to tell them when you or your employer terminates employment which would void your corp discount. I'm sure you can see how most people will just continue to pay their bill and keep the corp discount.
If you don't use all 300 minutes, I would look into some sort of prepaid.
