NO HDMI on the CQ61-420us

g0dMAn said: Nice deal, especially bc it's sub $400 with HDMI

One of the reviews said there is no HDMI on this one. The specs posted above dont say it either. Can someone confirm ?

Confirm is at HP.com
no HDMI on the cq61

I just looked at the picture (side view)of the laptop on Staples.com and i can clearly see HDMI port there

kirilenko2338 said: I just looked at the picture (side view)of the laptop on Staples.com and i can clearly see HDMI port there

The picture is a graphic.....
I have never opened one up but will look at the display shortly to see if there is an HDMI.

The HDMI port is blocked. Compaq reuses the shell from other models and they simply put a plate over the HDMI port location.

edit: see images in Newegg.

We should all know to not rely on a picture let alone a graphic type to determine how an actual item looks for features.....

was looking at this laptop for a while. thanks for 96469

I have the CQ61-313US bought the 1st week of W7 release. Got it at Staples for $350 AR. Good basic laptop for the price. No HDMI in mine, port is blocked.

Staples shouldn't be posting inaccurate images.

Confirmed..
The alleged HDMI HOLE is plugged.

Dad has this laptop and that is correct about the HDMI blocked - NO HDMI!

Unplug the HOLE ????

in 4 one, thanks op

Will the junkie 30/150 work with this?

winton said: Will the junkie 30/150 work with this?

5 digit coupon says not valid with any other coupon. might negate it, but worth a try.

can always use the $30 ejunkie on the Peachtree deal next week if it doesn't work on this.

so it has or it doenst have HDMI

surtaal00 said: so it has or it doenst have HDMI

Does not.

Also this laptop comes up a lot at the same price pretty much.

I will use video chatting few times per month. Is this HP-G60-630 any better build then Campaq apart from having Webcam and bigger hard disk? Is it worth paying $50+taxes more this? or better to use a external webcam for that money?

Yes, it has been the $350 AR, but not recently, so the extra
$50 off right now is nice.

if u buy anything at Staples, make sure you dont buy any accessories or protection plans. theyre unnecessary and SCAMS!!!

the sales guy tried to shove the accessories and protection plans down my throat when he said you need this this this this and this and this and this. i said "hey smartypants. no i dont need anything. all i need is food water and maybe some good sex. ill gladly go elsewhere where they dont look at me as a money tree but a person with genuine wants or needs." and left.

i have since sworn to boycott Staples entirely. other stores can have my business.

Can we use $50 coupon for in-store laptop purchase?

I have a un-used $50 Staples gift card that I wanted to use.

I disagree to an extent. The warranty on this is 99.99 for two years. Say what you want but my motherboard went out 4 months after buying it and HP refused to cover it. They said that it was my fault and they had the PC for a month. Because I bought the Staples warranty, I got my computer back in a week with a new motherboard. Im not saying you have to buy it but its one of those wish I had it things if something goes wrong.

It really all depends on what you need. I can understand not everyone needs Office on every PC, but as a student, I cant tell you how many people complain in class about not having Office on their PC.

Great deal OP. Might pick one up for my brother. Also check out they have the Deskjet 2680 or something like that for 69.99 with a 70 dollar rebate with purchase of PC.
