Solid deal. Can't believe prices are this low on 42" sets.

1024x768 is not real 720p.

Got one and am putting it away for a Christmas present. Thanks OP!!!

It's the trend with technology. Give it a while and I'm sure sets will drop even more.

Well, that's obviously not the correct resolution. You really thought that a 16:9 TV had the resolution of a 4:3 TV? That's just one of countless mistakes on LG's website. No offense, but let's try to use some common sense, people.

Anyhow, this deal may not be too "hot" for some people... like people who live near a Sears. Sears deals:

LG 42PJ350: $466 before CashBack and tax (BCB is 8%)
LG 50PJ350: $613 before CashBack and tax
Zenith Z50PJ240 (50PJ350 rebadge): $570 before CashBack and tax

Not trying to "crap" on this deal -- it's a good TV for the price, but some people can probably find it cheaper locally, and the 50" Zenith clone is only $100 more than the 42" LG. Just pointing that out....

720p only? any better deal with 1080p with plasma tv?

The lowest price that I've seen on the PK550 (1080p) was the TigerDirect deal that was posted here on FW awhile back. FWIW, TG told me that they expect to receive more stock on June 10th, but I don't know what the price will be. Another option, which is available right now, is to buy the 50PK550 from Adorama on eBay, combining Bing and FatWallet CashBack for a total of 9% CB: $948 - ~$85 = ~$863. If you want something smaller than 50", then you don't have a lot of options -- Panasonic is the only company that makes 1080p plasmas under 50".

Rectangular pixels?

I posted this deal because I found a sub $500 42 inch plasma with good reviews at a store that I have had great service over the years.
They have paid return shipping on defective lawnmowers, edgers, etc. plus they have shipped replacements items when requested. Sears may be around the corner, however factor in the tax. BCB is great when you can get it to work without a hassle. My final cost for this TV was $420. I will be receiving a $25 GC for my purchase.

Has the Fatwallet community turned into S/D where they bash and micro analyze every deal? I am not trying to win any popularity contests and I have been here for over ten years. I do not post store ads or the same coupons that come in the daily email. If you find a 42 in HDTV on Amazon or anywhere else for a lower price w/ tax included, please post your own link. I need to buy another one.

Good luck..

Excellent point....I thought it was only the new members they bashed daily.

Any BCB on this deal?

Only if you order from Sears, see post above.

Note just 1" thick & 44lbs. I have looked for ten minutes for the power requirements but I can't find them but I assume it's pretty reasonable.

Anyone know of any deals on a 32" set?

In for 1. TY OP

I ordered this from Amazon. Thanks OP. BC doesn't even show up for me from Sears. Plus I have to pay tax there. Factor in the fact that Amazon does not charge restocking and this is a no brainer even compared to the deals you mentioned.
