i went into the store and looked at the display model. it looks very nice! i believe this deal is the best bang for the buck laptop, and the cheapest new laptop currently at any store, b&m or online.

That's right. Great price too, even after tax. Having only had first hand experience with "old" celerons, I was skeptical at first but this works just fine for most applications - I was uninstalling Norton, downloading Open Office and watching a streaming video at the same time, and for a single core processor/slower hdd, all tasks performed without a hitch and pretty fast. Goes without saying that you may wish to uninstall all the cr@p it comes pre-installed. For the cons, Its kinda ugly looking on the aesthetics side though - and bulky, no wireless n, no hdmi, two USB ports on the right side are too close to each other. Track pad is fine (I use a mouse anyway) but the click buttons underneath are horrible and clunky(no better way to describe it. Power management could have been better, 3 hours battery life may be stretching it if you are using it actively.
But sweet deal, very nice everyday machine. Green for OP.

Picked one up for my parents... for what they use it for(web & e-mail) it is great! Looks good and performs well for the money.
I bought it without realizing that there is no built in webcam! Arrgh! I have to return and pay the restocking fee! kicking myself for not reading the specs!
