I own this camera and it's not very good. Has plenty of features, but the pictures turn out washed out and grainy. My old Canon A580 with no image enhancement capabilities takes better pictures than this.
that's interesting because I complained the same grainy issue with my SL720. I was hoping with the Schneider lense pictures would be a lot better. Great price but not sure if I was take another try on Samsungs despite all the mostly positive reviews I read.
edit: As for shopping DCs in general, I've become to hate the experience. I'd read reviews all day and my own experience is very different from others.

I agree. I have GPS version (the HZ35W) and almost all photos turn out lousy. Flash is also very, very slow to charge. Tons of features, but made useless by poor picture quality
My Sony has done great compared to my old Canon, might want to check them out for the P&S as well. simpleDeal said: For best pictures in a point and shoot camera, only two brands that are trusty: Canon and Panasonic.
