Ashampoo Burning Studio users are unusually loyal, with good reason – this program’s speed, simplicity and efficiency are simply unbeatable. Over the years the Ashampoo programmers have turned the program into a full suite that can handle all your data, audio and video burning and authoring tasks, without sacrificing its famous ease of use. In version 10 they have once again added a wealth of new features and modules, but the program is still amazingly intuitive to use – everything is explained as you do it.
Weird install. When you are prompted to enter a registration code, there is an option to "upgrade" but your option is simply to upgrade to Burning Studio 10 without the name "advanced" attached. Still unsure whether this free version is dumbed down. Seems to have the same features at the other.
Prepare for a lot of email offers once you sign up with an account to get your registration code. I don't mind it that much because I've picked up some really nice deals, for instance their version of MS Office for $4.99 which, aside from a couple annoyances, works better than OpenOffice.
This deal is for Ashampoo Burning Studio 2010, which is a rebranding of Ashampoo Burning Studio 9.
Ashampoo Burning Studio 10 is their most recent pay version. It seems like each year they release a new pay version, then rebrand their previous version and give it away. For example, I got Ashampoo Burning Studio 2009 for free, which is a rebranded Ashampoo Burning Studio 8.
A solid program. I have the paid version of Ashampoo Burning Studio and it does the job. One nit is that when burning a movie from a prepared folder, it names the disk "My Movies," but it's easy to get around that by making an ISO in another program, then burning the ISO.
I'm not sure how this freebie is different from the full version 9.
After the install, don't select the upgrade option, as it's a temporary trial of version 10.
