The only problem with CoH is the method of applying the numerous patches required through the online "mandatory" connection. I have had more than one crash during patching that required re-installation of the entire game from scratch (lose campaigns). Purchasing the game from Steam eliminates that problem. Super deal.
I was just browsing through steam to see what games are available and what the ratings are so I could use my best buy gift cards at bestbuy store. (People buy me bb gift cards for birthday and stuff... Thanks but anyone who really knows me knows that I don't shop at the most expensive electronics retailer, give me Staples or Home Depot)... Anyways... Just saw CoH which I've been eyeing for a while and was almost buying last week... Came here to open a topic but saw yours... Good find...

If you install Tales of Valor, you can skip almost all of the patching because you get fast forwarded to version 2.500. If you only play the base COH game, it really is painful patching it up to the latest version. Takes at least an hour just to patch. Add another 15 minutes for installation.
