OfficeMax.com 100% back in MaxPerks rewards on markers, highlighters and porous point pens. Also case of paper for $9.99 after rewards. 09/05/2010 - 09/11/2010

It's like getting FREE school supplies. After 100% back in MaxPerks Bonus Rewards. Online Only. 09/05/2010 - 09/11/2010. Link

Each of the following FARewards items is limit 6:

Sharpie Fine Point Permanent Markers, 12 Assorted Markers [20146272] $9.79 Link

Sharpie Accent Pocket-Style Highlighters, Yellow, 12 pack [20108018] $8.99 Link

Paper Mate Flair Point-Guard Porous Point Pens; red, black and assorted colors [10014030, 10023609, 10011827] $6.49 Link See Note 03

Just to make this offer interesting, at the moment the highlighters are "buy 2, get 1 free" and the porous point pens are "Buy 1, Get 1 at 50% Off". As long as the two offers are combining, one could order 9 of the highlighters (6 at full price and 3 free) and 6 porous point pens (3 at full price and 3 at half price) with rewards being awarded accordingly (highlighters: 6 at full price, porous point pens: 3 at full price and 3 at half price).

DO NOT WORRY THAT THE EMAIL CONFIRMATION IS BORKED.

For those that remember the 100% back offer of 08/22 which combined with a "buy 1, get 1 free" offer, while the email confirmation suggested there would be issues with some free items (an order of 12 had 12 at half price and 6 for free) depending on how they were listed during checkout, the invoice had the paid and free items properly listed (an order of 12 had 6 at full price and 6 for free) and the rewards for that order have been noted per the invoice (6 at full price and 6 for free). See attachments for email confirmation and rewards awarded examples from the 08/22 deal.

The following item is $9.99 after $30 in rewards - limit 6:

Boise X-9 Copy Paper [21403152] $39.99 Link

Note 01: While the product pages above might link to a multi-product page, only the specific items listed above qualify for the 100% back in rewards.

Note 02: Member's MaxPerks ID card number must be scanned/entered at the time of purchase; no Bonus Rewards adjustments will be made after purchase.

Note 03: For the Paper Mate Flair Point-Guard Porous Point Pens not sure if limit 6 per type (red, black and assorted colors) or limit 6 total for the three

The terms and conditions of the MaxPerks Rewards for Business program appear to have a $500 purchase requirement before reward payout?

What are MaxPerks Rewards and what can MaxPerks Rewards purchase?

MaxPerks Rewards are effectively OfficeMax store credit. "Reward Card(s) can be redeemed for almost everything OfficeMax sells in stores, by phone and online, except OfficeMax brand gift cards. Cards cannot and may not be applied as payment to any credit account."* That said, most OM cashiers/managers will not allow the purchase of third party gift or debit cards with rewards.

In-store up to three rewards cards can be used on a single transaction. Online the limit is one rewards card per transaction.

Do I have to be a MaxPerks Rewards member to take advantage of these offers?

Yes.

Sign-up online at www.officemaxperks.com

Can only businesses and teachers join the MaxPerks Rewards program?

No.

Teachers should sign-up for the MaxPerks Rewards for Teachers.

Everyone else should join as the MaxPerks Rewards for Business. Where the business application requests "Business Name" enter first and last name.

Do MaxPerks rewards "roll"?

MaxPerks rewards have rolled for 100% back in rewards offers in the past.

Do coupons impact the reward payout?

It depends on the type of rewards offer:

---- if its a 100% back offer, then coupon usage will reduce the rewards payout.
---- if its a fixed value (buy Y, get $5 in rewards), then coupon usage has not impacted the rewards payout to date.

The offer is not advertised in my region. Is the offer valid in my region?

This appears to be YMMV. Some have reported that non-advertised 100% back in rewards offers worked for them while others have reported that they have not. My experience is that 100% back in rewards offers are not valid out of the targeted region(s).

The item's online price does not match the item's price in the advertisement. Will the rewards payout be the advertised price or the purchase price?

These offers are 100% back in rewards. To date, the rewards payout has been the purchase price even when the purchase price has exceeded the advertised price.

How long does it take for a purchase to show up online on the MaxPerks rewards site?

Keep in mind that the transaction might update in stages.

For an in-store purchase, the transaction information for the purchase should update within several days of purchase. The rewards for the transaction might not update for several days after that.

For an online purchase, the transaction information for the purchase should update within several days of the order(s) shipment. The rewards for the transaction might not update for several days after that. If the purchase is shipped in several shipments, the transaction and rewards might be updated individually for each shipment.

The terms and conditions of the MaxPerks Rewards for Business program appear to have a $500 purchase requirement before reward payout?

The OfficeMax MaxPerks rewards program has two types of rewards: standard and bonus.

The standard reward for business program members is $25 for every $500 in qualified purchases (and for teacher program members, the standard reward is $10 for every $75 in qualified purchases).

Bonus rewards are special deals offered throughout the year. The pay out from the bonus reward deals is not in anyway linked to the $25 standard reward for every $500 in qualified spending. See the following from the programs terms and conditions

How To Earn Rewards

<snipped>

From time to time, OfficeMax may also offer its members MaxPerks Bonus Reward opportunities in which members can earn extra rewards (which may vary in amount) for purchasing specified products or completing a required action. To take advantage of the MaxPerks Bonus Rewards special purchase offers, you must have your MaxPerks member ID number at the time of purchase and it must be applied to that purchase. No MaxPerks Bonus Reward adjustments will be made after purchase. MaxPerks Bonus Rewards will be issued in the next statement cycle regardless of your qualified purchase balance.

does item=sku or is the max on the pens=6 no matter what color?

Does OM ever offer a 100% rewards deal in the stores. I orig did a over $50 rewards deal, but now want to do lower priced deals, using my left over rewards.

VivYip said: does item=sku or is the max on the pens=6 no matter what color?
No idea.

Generally per SKU but its YMMV (e.g. backpack offer).

JaxFL said: Does OM ever offer a 100% rewards deal in the stores. I orig did a over $50 rewards deal, but now want to do lower priced deals, using my left over rewards.
Yes, OM does have 100% back in rewards deals valid in-store.

In fact, OM has in-store 100% back in rewards deals this week regionally -- see ad for Chicago, IL.

Nice find op, The rewards have been rolling all year.

anyone tried this with one card, shopping in 2 regions. Say last week i was in my hometown of xxxxxxxxxxx and got the rewards there as it was valid in that region, and this week i am in the chicago market, and pick up the items again?

Does OM have any FAR software deals etc? I'm trying to figure where and how to use the rewards. At Staples/OD I have used the rewards gift cards for FAR software.

bpvh said: DO NOT WORRY THAT THE EMAIL CONFIRMATION IS BORKED

You're not kidding. My email confirmation is definitely BORKED! My checkout print order is correct though. I can't wait to see how this pans out...

NKaufman said: Does OM have any FAR software deals etc?

Never.

The email from the 08/22 FARewards offer was similarly borked and while the email created a lot of anguish, the rewards were awarded based on the checkout confirmation NOT the email confirmation. The invoice with the shipment mirrored the checkout confirmation.

Think OfficeMax is "borked" period..

JamesTKirk said: NKaufman said: Does OM have any FAR software deals etc?

Never.

So how do you turn rewards into cash?? Do you really need that much office stationery??

wash, rinse repeat, wash rinse repeat

I have bought AMEX, VISA or Master card gift cards using my Maxperks rewards.

LandOfTheFreebies said: I have bought AMEX, VISA or Master card gift cards using my Maxperks rewards.
While the programs T&C allow the purchase of third party gift and pre-paid cards with rewards, most cashiers/managers will not allow such a purchase.

Evidence to support your statement ?

Evidence of what? That most cashiers/managers will not allow the purchase of third party gift and pre-paid cards with rewards? Many have posted in this forum and on SD about this issue. As for my personal experience, of the six OfficeMax's near me, only two will allow such a purchase with rewards.

LandOfTheFreebies said: I have bought AMEX, VISA or Master card gift cards using my Maxperks rewards.

I do not have a OM store nearby and was wondering can I buy gift cards online using rewards? If not, then what are my options for online purchases to convert rewards to cash?

Did you have links to those posts in this forum ?

How do I know "of the six OfficeMax's near me, only two will allow such a purchase with rewards" was true story (?) Assume it's true, about those cashiers/managers in 4 stores who did wrong, did you do something ?

When that might be just an issue with OMX stores in your geographical area, how could you come up with such vague statement that may lead to wrong information that "most" cashiers/managers in all OMX stores in the US will not allow such a purchase (?)

Did anyone find out about the pens, if we can get limits for each color or limits total for pens?
TIA!

They are 6 per color. Here is the link to the promo page that shows different SKUs. You might want to keep a copy for records

Well I'll vouch for bvph. My store doesn't let me buy them either. It's been awhile, there's probably a new manager, maybe I should try again.

One store out of how many in your specific area ? Did sth about the wrongdoing of that cashier/manager yet ?

There are only a few stores in MA. Only one is very convenient and even that one is 40 miles round trip.

Do the 100% back count toward qualified purchases (for ink recycling) like they did the last time around at Office Depot? I just just got a MaxPerks number and will be behind on qualified purchases for the year.

ponch007 said: Do the 100% back count toward qualified purchases (for ink recycling) like they did the last time around at Office Depot? I just just got a MaxPerks number and will be behind on qualified purchases for the year.
As long as the 100% back in rewards items are otherwise a qualified purchase (type of item, type of payment, etc.), then yes, they count toward the annual purchase requirement for ink/toner recycling.

Thanks. Unfortunately, most of the items are back ordered.

ponch007 said: Thanks. Unfortunately, most of the items are back ordered.
You can still order, OM will ship the back ordered items as soon as they come back in stock.

You just have to stay on top of it though because BO items bonus rewards don't post and then you have to call in to have that corrected.

Some of the items came off of Backorder so I placed a small order. I found it amusing, that if I wanted 3 sets of Sharpies they were Backordered -- 2 sets they were not backordered.

Maybe they only had 2 sets left at the time? lol

sehrwunderbar said: Maybe they only had 2 sets left at the time? lol

I guess that is what happened. They are backordered now.

did anyone else order the x9 cases of paper? mine arent showing as qualified yet while the other items I ordered are, and am wondering if i'm going to have to call.

Does anyone has the screen shot of BICMatic Grip Mechanical Pencils, 0.7mm 12/pk that show 100% back in MaxPerks? I didn't get my 100% back, called them, and they said the item wasn't one of the 100% back in MaxPerks.

TIA!

Are you talking about the deal from 8/22-8/28?

If so, according to this thread, only the .5mm 12-packs were eligible.
