NothingInMyWallet said: Can I ask a question as a non-techie person and not get jumped on?
Got delivery today and haven't played around with them yet, I think I want to do what everyone else has done with these. I know it has WiFi, and this is the non-techie in me, forgive me if I sound dumb, but using the Android market to get apps and such...do we need some sort of data plan or something, like we do on smartphones? I don't see any mention of needing service for these. Is there a way to set this up to use in place of my phone for some apps and reduce my data usage on my phone? I bought one of these for my 'tween son, how do I get it where he can use all the features (after hacking it) w/o having to pay for internet/data?
Again, forgive any of the dumb questions, but I only joined the world of smartphones two months ago, so a lot of tech stuff is way over my head. Thanks in advance for advice!!
It cannot be used as a phone. You will use it on your home network (or any wifi hot spot/open connection) to connect to the internet.

delzy said: OK, this is sort of weird. I looked at this thing about a month ago at Kohls.com and had one in my cart. My store doesn't have any so I logged in to the website and searched pandigital and it didn't show up. I noticed there was one item in my shopping cart and lo and behold, it's the digital novel 7" reader from a month ago, but now it's priced at $60. Applied "SWEEPS10" coupon code for 10% off with $.99 shipping and no tax - came to $54.99 to my door. Now I just wonder if my order will be canceled.
I wonder if your cart actually reserves stock for weeks or not. Anyway, I think it'll be worth $55, but I guess I'll decide later. Thanks OP.I received my PDN yesterday and I'm running the mac-1 firmware: http://www.slatedroid.com/index.php?topic=14033.315. It took two accounts to get the google market server error to go away. It took a while to figure out how to shut off the screensaver screen. This is a fantastic android tab for $60. Thanks OP.

There's 60,000 apps in the market, for everything from reading comic books to movie times to telling you the weather will be and grabbing news from news sites, etc....answers for "most useful app" are likely to be as varied as the people in the forum.
