Office Depot FAR software beginning 06/12/2011 and continuing 06/19/2011

UPDATE for the week of 06/19/2011: No new FAR titles for the week beginning 06/19/2011. While Norton Online Backup continues to be FAR for the week of 06/19, QuickBooks Online Simple Start will no longer be FAR after 06/18.

-----------------------

Two titles advertised as FAR. The rebates for the titles are completely new.

FAR titles with completely new rebates this offer period beginning 06/12/2011

QuickBooks Online Simple Start, For PC/Mac [711942] $129.99 link
$130 standard rebate #OD7102569 link
--- rebate valid from 06/12/2011 through 06/18/2011
--- paid via VISA prepaid card
--- copy of receipt
++ Both Office Depot and Staples have this title as FAR this week. There should be little concern about doing the rebates for both deals especially considering that the rebate for the Office Depot deal is processed by Young America (web-rebates) and is being funded by Office Depot whereas the rebate for the Staples deal is being processed by Parago (rebateshq/stapleseasyrebates).

Norton Online Backup 25GB[672084] $49.99 link
$20 standard rebate #11-51862 link
--- rebate valid from 06/12/2011 through 06/25/2011
--- paid via VISA prepaid card
--- original UPC code
--- copy of receipt
$30 upgrade rebate #11-51822 link
--- rebate valid from 06/12/2011 through 06/25/2011
--- paid via VISA prepaid card
--- original proof of purchase (proof of purchase is located on the top inside flap of box).
--- copy of receipt
--- proof of previous ownership of a stand-alone or pre-loaded version of any Norton™ or Symantec™ software or another company’s antivirus, firewall, antispam, antispyware, utility, or back up software product. Proof of previous ownership submission requirements: a) Previous owners of a stand-alone, retail (boxed or downloaded) product must enclose either a copy of the previous product’s CD, first page of manual (usually titled “User’s Guide”), or your confirmation email from your previous download purchase. b) Previous owners of pre-loaded (OEM) software product must enclose a copy of the previous product’s Help/About screen.
++ Symantec/Norton rebates generally can be pre-submitted at www.symantecrebates.com

****ALERT ON McAfee REBATES****

It has been reported on SD that McAfee through its rebate processor, Parago, has started to enforce a one per product restriction on its rebates. Until this is sorted out, submitting more than one rebate per product is not advised even if the rebate has a different rebate number and different offer period. The rebate invalidation message has been reported as "Your rebate request did not pass our audit process".

--------------------

* - CONTINUING = CONTINUING means the rebate did not begin in this time period so it is necessary to check your rebate log to determine whether you have done this rebate already.

Ouch, a $130 Visa card. Are there any $ off coupons valid on software?

Thanks for posting these.

None that I know of and your welcome.

No UPC required for QuickBooks??

would the QuickBooks rebate from Office Depot be in conflict(invalidate?) witht eh easyrebate from Staples?

Jokingly, would Office Depot pricematch Staples OTD price of $125?

dhilpert said:   No UPC required for QuickBooks??Apparently not. But why not just get it from Staples, where it's cheaper and you can do the rebate online?

1) No of course not
2) Isn't Staples $105.99? And it could be worth a try.

Two reasons for me:

1. Staples will not allow me to use OD gift cards/rewards to pay for the purchase.
2. I am going to do both.

Most rebates processed by OD's rebate processor where the rebate is funded by Office Depot -- as this one is -- do not require a upc code or any other proof other than the sales receipt/order confirmation or packing slip.

bpvh said:   Most rebates processed by OD's rebate processor where the rebate is funded by Office Depot -- as this one is -- do not require a upc code or any other proof other than the sales receipt/order confirmation or packing slip.My only problem with this deal is that I hate OD's rebate processor. They reject a non-trivial amount of rebates, and try to tell you it's not their fault (even though the last one was that THEY entered the wrong date from the receipt and it was clearly due to their sloppy processing). Not sure I want to have to deal with that on a $130 rebate.

Didn't Intuit have issue with limiting users to one product rebate per year (even through multiple channels)? I think in the end they did pay up. Hopefully we won't see a repeat of anything like that since the rebate processors are two different companies...

There is no such language on either the OD or Staples version of the rebate form this time around.

PM QuickBooks to Sams Club for only $99.98

1brooklyn1 said:   Another item that's FAR is Learning QuickBooks For Windows 2011
Item # 711348 with an Original Price: $39.99
Mail-In Savings: -$40.00.

That item is not FAR by itself. It must be purchased together with QuickBooks Pro or Premier on the same receipt.

Can we do the QuickBooks simple start rebate at both Staples and Office Depot?

bendakaya said:   Can we do the QuickBooks simple start rebate at both Staples and Office Depot?
There should be no issue with doing rebates from purchases from both Staples and Office Depot.

If I'm just buying the software to meet the purchase requirement for ink redemption, does using a code for a freebie reduce the amount of the purchase the same way it did on the free after rewards stuff (man I miss the non-battery free after rewards stuff)? Also , on an unrelated note, I'm assuming we don't have to use our rewards in a single transaction even though it's just a paper certificate now. Thanks for the most helpful thread in all of Fatwallet!

Using a freebie item coupon does not reduce the qualifying purchase amount for recycling purposes.

Free case of paper 6/17/11 only with the FAR QuickBooks. It's on their homepage, free case paper w/ $100 delivery order. Better than the rolling cooler or other freebies.

Considering that paper can be had for FAR or FARewards, unless you use a lot of paper or have an avenue to sell it on, almost any freebie is better than the paper, especially the movie cash.

If I have a $240 rewards certificate from last quarters ink/free after rebates purchases and I buy the $130 quick books online (to convert the rewards to cash in the form of a rebate) will I get a balance coupon for the remaining $110 in rewards or do I lose anything that isn't used in the transaction?

The Rewards certificate is adjusted to a new balance after your purchase. The new balance prints on your receipt. You just keep using the original Rewards certificate until it runs out of money (like a gift card). I always write the new balance after each transaction. No limit as to how many (unlike Staples) transactions. But there is a time limit (expiration date.

Six hours, 43 minutes of notice.

Of course since I ordered earlier in the week with the movie cash coupon ... and I did not want to go through the hassle of returning everything ... it came days too late for me.

I called them up last night 5 minutes before closing, told them I forgot to use the code (between rewards and a gift cards), and they said to bring it in today and they would fix it --- and they did!!! Glad I made the call - figured it couldn't hurt! $20 plus tax refunded to my CC. Thanks, OP!

To those who used the coupon for free movie tickets:
I used a similar coupon earlier in the year and finally got around to trying to redeem the tickets. I say trying because when you go to http://www.officedepotmoviecash.com/ you receive a message indicating that "Your request may not be processed at this time."
Assuming they're still issuing the same certificates, this could be an extra hassle to deal with on the road to free movie tickets.

Has anyone received the movie certificates yet? My order said it shipped and expecting delivery on 7/1. But I have not got it yet.

coolbelas said:   Has anyone received the movie certificates yet? My order said it shipped and expecting delivery on 7/1. But I have not got it yet.
My movie cash certificates arrived via USPS on 07/01. Postcard sized, taped, folds out to 3X.

"See a Movie on Us"

Sent from Wood Dale, Ill., according to the return address. I'm in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.

No, I still have not yet received my movie certs. I'm getting impatient.

Haven't received any acknowledgement on the QB MIR either. Anyone else?

Update: I got my movie thing in the mail today. It has two codes that need to be entered in another web site to get the certificates. Note that the codes has short exp dates. Mine expires at the end of July. But I imagine that the actual certs would give you more time to go watch the movies. I don't know, because I haven't done it yet.

Anyone got MIR acknowledgement? I'm nervous about this rebate, for $130, rightly so.

Thanks, I checked for it, and some other older rebates showed up. The QB rebates has not be entered. Bpvh, did you see yours? And when did you submit yours?

Just providing information. I did not mail mine in until this week.

The QB rebate started showing as of around last week (for me at least) It's in "pending" stage with the check/card number of 0; if this info helps

I just found the same problem. I can not redeem the movie cash. the website doesn't work. So what shall we do with it?
