I purchased T2i camera + PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II last month (Aug) from Amazon. There was a $500 rebate for the printer. I sent the UPC for both items and everything else what was asked in the rebate form.

Today, I got letter from canon that rebate has been denied because I didn't make a hole in the box. I cut the upc from the box using the sharp knife. UPC came off with some cardboard but didn't make the hole in the box.

Rebate is worth $500.

Anybody else's rebate got denied by Canon for this reason?
