"Buy 5 quarts of Valvoline NextGen Conventional motor oil and a Purolator Classic oil filter for $20.99, and get a 12-qt. oil recycling container and a $20 American Express gift card after mail-in rebate. Includes filters up to $11.99."

Filter must be purchased also. Guess that is where the "oil change special" comes in.

Edit: Well, I'm really confused now. At their rebate site it says just the oil. Will try the oil only first. I have nuff filters.

Not sure why you're confused. You must buy 5 qts plus a filter to get the "oil change special" price of $20.99.

Skip the filter, pay full price for the oil, > $5 each.

10% CashBack from Shop Discover. I don't see any exclusions for buying oil.

I already have more oil filters than I'll probably ever use for this particular car. Anyone know of a filter close to the $11.99 Max? I have a chevy with the Ecotec, so its filter is more expensive than others at $7.99. (I'm looking for possible resell value)

Advance's site makes this extremly difficult to find since you have to input a car model before seeing filters.

Coupon codes do not work on orders that include motor oil.

So you get 2 oil change specials, and 3 extra jugs of the oil and get $100 back, 25 qts of oil, and 2 filters for $17. Do I have that right?

excuse my ignorance but is NexGen product line conventional only?

Dumb question: Can this be ordered online and picked up at the store?
The offer is in the current flyer, but can't find on their website.

bbli2000 said:   Do I have pay by using AMEX card?

No this is an advance auto promotion. AMEX has nothing to do with it other than the promotion being for a $20 AMEX card.

Why not go with 5 individually purchased oil change specials for a total of 25t quarts of oil 5 filters for $5

How to purchase online? Found the answer to my own question.
Go here: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/rebates
Scroll down to the Valvoline offer and click Shop Now
The next page shows 10w-30 Nextgen, but I need 5w-30.
Searched for 5w-30, added a 5 qt. jug to my cart
Searched for Purolator Classic filter and added to my cart
Discounts appear on checkout page.
Note: When I added a Pureone filter instead of the Purolator Classic the discount disappeared.

Has anyone submitted the online rebate yet? I had issues during the online process. I called and the rep said he fixed them, but I did not get anything to mail in. Is this a paperless rebate, or are you supposed to mail something in?

This is a heckuva deal! Thanks for sharing it OP, green for you! The timeframe to purchase this from today 12/29/11 thru 3/28/12, and you can do it up to 5 times, just one rebate per envelope. I was reading the rebate form and it was showing the items that qualify are all showing as 10w-30 and 5w-30, that is something to possibly be aware of.

One reason that might be occurring is that the reduced price with the PureOne filter that is listed in the ad as only good with 5 indivdual quarts, the one with the Classic filter gives the option of buying 5 seperate quarts or the jug.

The $7 MIR seems valid on this deal as well. The clerk at the store printed an additional receipt and stapled the $7 rebate to it.

Wife's car just hit the oil change need. Thanks OP!

Are you sure about that, right on the flyer it says "Limit 1 reward card per household"

The Reward Card is subject to applicable law; a $2.00 monthly service charge applies but is waived for the initial six (6) months after receipt by cardholder.

does that mean you have to cancel the card?

No it means they deduct $2 a month from the balance after the first 6 months. The balance will not stay on the card forever. You have to use it.

Limit 1 reward card per household

The ad states limit ONE rewards card per household. But, the rebate site lists limit FIVE. I am going with the FIVE.

Each rebate submission must be mailed separately. This is a mail-in rebate since it states in the fine print "Please allow 3 weeks after mailing to make any inquiries regarding your rebate."

One question I have that I have not looked into further is the rebate form (have not gone thru the whole steps of giving my info) makes no mention of recycling the oil as a condition of getting the rebate. However, the ad shows step two as recylcing the oil and then step threee getting the rebate!!

SuperSeacat said:   The $7 MIR seems valid on this deal as well. The clerk at the store printed an additional receipt and stapled the $7 rebate to it.

Which $7 MIR would ALSO apply? I don't see one for this oil being discussed.

the $7 reb (limit 2/$14) is for "Valvoline's Premium Conventional, MaxLife High Mileage or SynPower Motor Oil". There's no phone # on the form, so don't know where you could ask if NextGen qualifies.
Also: the AAP rebates page now lists this $20 as "Limit 1", not 5.

A $7 MIR August 24, 2011 through December 31, 2011. They gave me a coupon like rebate form from a pad of them. The rebate shows NextGen on it and states it qualifies. The bottom of my receipt shows the rebate is available as well. It says see team member or visit AdvanceAutoParts.com/rebates, but it is not on the rebate.

Before I posted my reply it said limit five. I just checked and it still says limit five. Here is the link, hope it works. https://advanceautoparts.4myrebate.com/Claim/OfferDetailsNewGrid...

Otherwise, the way I cam getting there is:
https://advanceautoparts.4myrebate.com/
Choose OIL under PRODUCT CATEGORY
Only one Valvoline rebate appears (after a few seconds) and click on SELECT at the far right.
Under Rebate Terms and Conditions the fourth line down states the limit of FIVE.

Where are you seeing a limit of one?

Going to the site you mentioned gives a printable form: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/wcsstore/CVWEB/Attachment/stati...

Says CRT copies accepted, limit of two $7 rebates. So, evne if the store does not have any forms or does not give a duplicate CRT, you could print from here and include a copy yourself.

Thanks for everyones help!! I will have to share this with a oily relative and get them to the store before Saturday and make all of the purchases!!!

Still have not found anything that requires you to actually recycle old oil at the store as the ad leads one to believe...

Oops, and forgot to say yes, the rebate form for the $7 does not mention the NextGen is included. I guess all you have to lose is the .44 postage invloved.

I can't believe any one is buying this oil! Didn't you see Cars 2?

Can the Oil Change promo be done online, including the free 12 qt Recycling Container?

Purchase online is only good for In-store Pickup. They won't ship jugs of oil. To all Fry's whiners --> I'd gladly trade two of my Fry's for one AdvanceAutoParts.

nicknametaken said:   Where are you seeing a limit of one?
at http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/rebates
BUT, when you click-through to the online rebate registration for promo AAP-10003, the details DO say "Limit 5", with a limit of "1 application per envelope".

for those doing this online for in store pickup, dont forget to add the free jug. Just search "11849" and add to cart where it becomes $0.00

So, the math....

$20.99 - $20 AMEX card - $7.00 MIR + (2) .44 postage = FREE oil, filter and recycle container AND 5.13 moneymaker!!

AM I missing anything else?

I posted my rebate form above. It is not the same as the one you linked at AdvanceAutoParts.com. Just get it from them at the store when you go to pickup your order.

Great deal, thanks OP! I haven't seen how we get the oil jug? Is this handed over when we pick up our orders or does it come in after the rebate is submitted? Thanks again.

OK SuperSeacat, will get the $7 form at the store to be safe. And, will look into placing my order online for store pick-up to get the FatCash---never did that before.

As I said, never used FW Cash before. Does it matter that I already went to Advance Auto site BEFORE initiating thru FW Cash?

Oh, I see where it was mentioned about the limit one vs limit five on the AMEX deal. The AAP rebate page vs. once you finally click thru to submit the rebate. If I were to place an online order for FIVE offers, I would need to make all of them individual orders for pick-up in order to get the five receipts. I wish companies would get their act together on things like this!!

EDIT: Well, that oily relative I mentioned is not wanting any of these items. So, I would be buying for sole the purpose of re-selling. Any suggestions on an "average demand for" version of filter and oil?

You're right, I just ordered/picked up a 5.1qt jug of nexxGen 5W30 Oil, and it's $19.99 on the site and says right on the page it has a $20 Rebate. I just submitted the rebate online, and it says Limit 1 for the oil (buy in 5 Quarts or 1 Jug). Thanks OP!
