I bought five quarts of oil with an oil filter. Banners in the store and in the brochure indicated that by purchasing these items I would qualify for a $20 American Express Reward Card. The reciept also stated that I qualified for $7 in rebates. The sales associate told me to go online to AdvanceAutoParts.4myrebate.com. I did as instructed, following through the numerous pages on the website only to be told I would be getting a $4 rebate sometime within the next 2-3 months. There was no mention of the Reward Card.I called Advance Auto Parts where it was plain to see that no one knew what was going on. After 50 minutes on the phone with a very heavy mouth breather (seriously, I asked her if she was having respiratory problems) I was told a manager would call me. There was no indication of when I would be contacted, a day, a week, a month. The bottom line is this, you have a clear example of false advertising. The company is banking on the fact that the vast majority of people will not have the time to chase after these special offers. They make the process unnecessarily difficult to limit the number of rebates/reward cards. This is disgusting. They have lost me as a customer. spupilup 1/2/12 7:59AM

Has anyone pushed it to 5 rebates yet?
I may wait a few days, possibly even wait for receipt of GC, before submitting more.
I completed four orders: (3) 5.1 (5W30) (1) 1 x 5qt (5W30)
Assuming no hitches, I had figured worst case I get $20 GC and three $7 MIR, total $41 Rebates on $88 order. I'm now at $61 rebate on $88 order (or $27 for four oil changes)

The required Transaction ID/Order Number and register number will be on your receipt when you pick up your order. The order number should also be on your order confirmation email.

From one of the sites: "For online orders enter Store #1020 and Register #1 along with your Order ID."
I believe Order ID is called the order number. It is the number from online ordering, and is also printed on the store receipt.
Edit: That's three votes for "Order Number"

So far I'm two for three on the $20 rebates (no cards yet, just based on the notifications). All three were 5W-30, 5.1qt as I made my purchase before I knew there was any possible benefit in purchasing different grades.
I made my second two purchases after seeing the limit 5 in the fine print when I filed for the rebate online but then saw the speculation about the limit of one per grade of oil so when I went to submit the second two, I did one at an alternate address with the same name and another with my spouses name at the same address as the first submission. The one with my spouses name is the only one pending but there is a chance that it will not go through because it is for a duplicate address and the same grade of oil. However, I did submit two of the $7 rebates so hopefully they will go through too.
If all goes well, this will have been a pretty sweet deal, especially when you consider that you are getting FW cash on top of everything (this is also good to offset any taxes you might have to pay).
For those posting success/fail rates, I would appreciate it if they indicate if they submitted for different or same grades of oil, container sizes and whether they used the same or alternate names/addresses for all.

Similar problem here:
First order was placed 12/29 9:23 PM (Mountain), paid with PayPal. FW Cash Back update e-mail was dated 12/29 10:18 PM.
Second order was placed 12/29 11:41 PM, paid with AMEX. Still no FW Cash Back update.
Both orders were picked up on 12/30. Did NOT use coupon in either order.

I received Cash Back notifications within a couple hours. It was the fastest CB notifications I have ever got; I was surprised....Now if I could just get the CashBack from a big sportmens guide order I did...?

To the people that picked up in store and see the $15.xx on your in store receipt, are you still seeing the $22.xx on the credit card charges? I see the $22.xx. I thought it would show the $15.xx since that is what I signed for.

Mine is a mess.
Orignally it was supposed to be $22.04 Paypal then took out $21.87 from my bank account for the bill And my reciept says $15.xx
I am fine with the $21.87 but if someone really wanted to push the matter you could send a copy of your reciept to your CC and probably get the whole thing free, or worse case only charged the $15.xx.

I have re-read thru this thread and wanted to make sure of my question. I bought:
(3) sets of the 5.1 qt jug with 10W30 (3) sets of the 5.1 jug of 10W40
I used the SAME CC on all orders and purchased in-store, not online.
I plan to use (3) different physical address for the rebates submitting one of each set purchased per address. IOW, I should receive $40 per address. Is this allowed?

I have entered my receipt info for the $20 rebate online. I am now at the window where I am asked to "Please select a rebate service and payment method from the options below." But, I do not see a way to choose the AMEX card vs their basic rebate service of 8-10 weeks. Or, does that mean that is my ONLY option and "both" are part of the AMEX method of payment?

OK, I just did as you said. Very odd! I printed out my "form" that tells me the postmarked by date is 4/27/2012, but of course, NO address given as to where one should "mail" it to!! These companies crack me up! You know what is funny is that AAP is located right next to Rite Aid!!
Allright, off to enter my next CRT for the other grade of oil...then, repeat this for the other two addresses...

That is how i understand it too.
I bought three different grades on three seperate orders ( on different days), and figured since there was no rush i'd do one at a time.
Did the first one end of Dec. Got an email next day saying i was approved and card should be mailed in 5-8 days.
did the second one yesterday ( same name, address, email as first) got confirmation but no approval ( or denial) email yet.
figure I'll wait a little on the third and see how number 2 pans out. I figure if i am denied i can always just return to store, so very little risk involved. This rebate is easy but also very confusing at the same time, or maybe I'm just a little slow

I don't think you are slow! I think the ones that are slow are the ones that put these forms/offers together and rush them out the door without stopping by the Logic Dept. I mean, I make typos when posting, but, I am not making an offer as they are. They are either slow or making it confusing on purpose! Take a look at the $7 rebate form. I was able to get two that I need for the first (4) sets and just now printed off the one for the 5th and 6th sets. It says to tape the seal on a 3X5 card. OK, I can live with that. But, the reason given is so it will go throught the PO's equipment! Now, i have not laid hands on these seals yet, but I bet they are no the thickness that would cause a problem and differently than any other "loose" item mailed in an envelope! And, if using the printed $7 form, there is LOTS and LOTS of empty space on that 8x10 inch sheet of paper. I was going to tape it somewhere there but I better not, otherwise, I would not be complying with the "instructions: of the offer and risk a denial...

I took the safety seal/ring and smashed/flattened it as best I could with a hammer, straightened it out and taped it to the 3X5 postcard...lol I could see no other way the envelope would make it intact through a mail sorting machine.

Right now I'm 3 for 4 on the $20 rebates. The only one that is still showing up as being in "Processing" status is one that was for the same weight of oil submitted using the same address as an earlier submission using my spouses name/email. I made this purchase before I was aware of the one rebate per oil weight and container size.
The last one I did was for a name/address/email that I had submitted earlier and the only thing was different was the oil weight. This one was approved within one day.
I've also submitted three of the $7 rebates but their status is unknown.
So, in summary. You can get multiple rebates on this deal by purchasing different oil weights and container sizes but it looks like they may indeed be limiting it to one per household for each grade of oil and contaner size as previously speculated. So far, I've been buying only the 5.1 quart deals so I may test this theory further by getting a couple of the 5x1qt deals. Nothing like (almost) free motor oil!

As others have reported elsewhere in this thread, it also seems to work if you use the Store #, Register # and Order ID printed on the copy of the receipt that they should give you when you pick up your order (this is the actual store number and register number for that store so it will not be 1020). I did this on all my submissions without any issues.

This is by far the fastest rebate approval process that I have ever experienced; less than 2 days for an approved rebate. Shamwow! I'm calling Vince and we're gonna celebrate!
Also, when filling out the online rebate form, I used the pickup receipt and entered the store #, register #, and order #.

Followed by one labeled: Rebate Registration Confirmation
I just checked the status and it still says processing. I submitted about 24 hrs ago. My question is will I be in "processing" for quite some time until they mail out the AMEX? Or, is this the step that the rest of you are claiming you were "approved?" Is there another stage where I go from processing to approved?
