Yes 75 cents per gb is a good price now. As to SATAIIvsIII, I doubt you will see any real difference unless you are writing very large files. The lower speed of the southbridge to cpu is probably going to be more of a restriction if you have other things going on the SATA buss than the drive itself. It is sort of like a Corvette vs a Ferrari. Yes the Ferrari is faster but not in any meaningful way that you can use legally. The logic of using an SSD is questionable for frequent writing of very large files due to the limited number of operations in a life cycle of the SSD.
