why does it matter that much of honeycomb vs gingerbread? Phones are not 7 inch in size so you can't compare.
7 inch is very usable size as a tablet, good compromisse between tablet experience and pocketability
if anything, there are more software compatible with GB than honeycomb.
If you get Gingerbread then be warned about the Internal memory problem that is widely reported. A simple google search and you should find 1000's of posts regarding the problem.

Why didn't you post the deal then instead of bragging about it now!
Got mine yesterday from the previous $167 deal. Nice little tablet. I agree it's a good in between size - large enough to easily read and not do too much scrolling, yet more portable than an iP@d.

I encourage everyone to try the 7in form factor. For lazy people like me who usually use the tablet when laying down, it's easy to grip with one hand and make it work with the other. You can't do that for long with the iPad or other 10" tablet which is twice the size. (For those that are about to argue with me that 10 is not double 7, go back to geometry.)
I just got this tablet but am dissapointed with the android 2.3 . This is my first android so dont know too much about it but can someone help tell how to upgrade to android 3.00 or above as many apps i am looking at needs those versions. I see that you can root the tablet but not sure if that would let me upgrade the android when i do that and if its safe to do so....

Better off selling it and getting a Honeycomb, or better yet one that is ICS upgradeable. You get what you pay for.
