I just ordered 3 TM MS to clear out my Rewards $$$ ... but still have gc's to use on all the FAR stuff for Sunday. Staples is doing a good job of making me "churn" my $$ within their world.

Every time I tried to get the free box of paper (w/o required "supply" purchase amount), it never worked. Not that I need anymore.

Don't forget to add case to your cart along with the coupon. I posted yesterday I couldn't get it to work and asked to "educate this old fart". Well I discovered I hadn't put the paper in my cart, only the coupon which then stated what you said. DOH! Anyway snagged it this AM. Good luck.

Definitely works with boxed software but not downloads. Just to remind people of that.

Now the "problem" is what to do with the 44 boxed anti-virus programs I have accumulated over the past 6 weeks.
Might just consider printing out a list of the licenses and offer them to your local school district, or similar, for use by the schools or teachers. Instructions on how to use the licenses wouldn't hurt either.

Good reminder mathfaster.

Yeah, but then it will be a hassle when the subscriptions expire and they start getting the nag screens. Better to set them up with free AV software that won't expire.

TM MS 3-user boxed CD is back in stock! And it works with the free box of paper )

If you have Chase, log in and purchase through the UR portal for a bonus 4 points/$1 (= 5% CB)!

Out of stock again.

billrubin said:   MISTERCHEAP said:   BeanTech said:   Speaking of the deals during the 25% promo, did anyone else do the McAfee Total Protection MIR for $50?
I mailed it on 1-25-12 and it still doesn't show on McAfeerebates.com.

patience...can take up to 3 weeks to show up. even then, if they "typo" your name wrong, you can never find it online unless you have a tracking number or you get the email update. I've gotten chx when I never could find any info online. they'd misspell my name or some such goof.
Parago seems to be really slow at the moment. I mailed a bunch of rebates on 1/26 (including 2 McAfee) and they have not shown up yet. Also some I mailed on 1/18 still did not get entered.

They are definitely slow, I just had one that I mailed on 1/4 appear online TODAY, with another one still pending.

Boxed Trend Micro 3 pc is in stock right now. There are 245 left.

AVG boxed is still OOS.

I bought TM boxed a couple of days ago and the rebate status still hasn't updated. I am expected to receive the order this Monday. Usually when is it exactly do online order rebates update?

For the above offer, is it possible to add this to an online order after I ordered? I bought 8 AVG yesterday morning but I forgot to add the case of paper. Has anyone been successful calling customer service and having the case of paper added to your order after the face? Is the case of paper tax-free? Is boxed software considered office supplies?

MrVietnam said:    Is boxed software considered office supplies?

No it's technology.

So then how are a lot of people getting a free case of paper when they order FAR boxed software?

JamesTKirk said:   MrVietnam said:    Is boxed software considered office supplies?

On anoter board I posed the same question and I got this reply from someone:

I think it was clear in the wiki that you can add the paper with the boxed software and they are considered office supplies.

Just checked out and did my rebates - but do I need to ask for the rebate 5/10 times, or does Staples multiply my numbers based on the quantities in the related orders?

dongtea said:   Just checked out and did my rebates - but do I need to ask for the rebate 5/10 times, or does Staples multiply my numbers based on the quantities in the related orders?

The latter: Staples multiplies your numbers based on the quantities in the related orders.

discussed earlier in this thread and added to the Staples newbie thread in reply.

sapdude said:   mathfaster said:   sapdude said:   Newbie here. I bought 5 Titanium under one order since the rebate limit is 5. Is that okay? Should I put them under 5 separate orders instead?

Asked that the following be added to the OP in the noob thread:

Q: If I buy multiple copies of a sku(product) with a rebate in a single transaction do I have to submit the rebate multiple times?

A: No, you only need to submit the rebate once. The rebate system knows from the transaction the quantity you purchased.

Staples newbie thread

Good job. Thanks for adding the question to the thread.

In terms of the free case paper at Staples.com, the boxed versions of the AV sofware will work fine. However, the download versions are considered services so they do not qualify. In general, software at Staples is considered office supplies. That is why they have the same unlimited return period just like other office supplies. The only restriction placed on software returns is that it must be returned unopened.

Added 5 of the TM MS to my cart to cash out my ~$300 rewards check, but noticed the tax was $21.
Opted for the non-taxable downloads instead. $50 out of pocket and $350 coming back as cash. This was almost all for the 25% off deals.

Besides saving on the tax, I liked the idea of not adding to the 35 boxes of software I have now from these deals!

"Software: Unopened software, including all Staples® brand software, that we currently sell may be returned for a full refund at any time. Opened software can only be exchanged for the same title version. Downloadable Software is not returnable."

varies from

"Office supplies: No matter when you made your purchase, you can return office supplies to us for a full refund, including Staples® brand office products.

I have had it only happen once but some cashiers will stamp "must be returned within 14 days" on software purchases.

Once you go to final checkout after adding the rewards check as a coupon, the tax will be reduced to only tax the amount that you would be paying after rewards (if anything).

The TM 3-user boxed is back in stock this morning. I just bought several of those and some AVG downloads and cashed out $376 in rewards, and I paid only 50 cents in tax on the small overage.

They only have 22 more in stock, so hurry!

Thanks for the clarification. It only makes sense that you cannot return software they no longer sell. I've never returned any software at Staples but is is nice to know that if I ever have a issue and need to exchange software I can as long as they still sell it. Try doing that at Office Depot.

Oops....I forgot about that...thanks for the reminder.
So I guess I saved ~$3 and not $21.
Still, I don't want anymore software boxes being delivered to the house!

I only bring up the clarification because when they are switching over product years I just wonder how easy it would be to return the prior years software after 14 days. Also, there have been posts regarding people returning software after the 14 day return period and it not being allowed.

BTW, if anyone has large quantities of software they want to get rid of, PM me.

Now OOS again...Wow, that was fast.

With President's day sale this coming weekend, we're all getting close to premier status now

Placed my order on Wed, shipped on Wed, delivered Thurs, got the "your rebate is being processed" email Thurs

All 10 of my Trend Micro rebates (5 Internet Security, 4.99 AR, 5 Maximum Security, FAR) are now "Validation in Progess," so it looks like I'm all set. Thanks!

106 TM Max security in stock right now... AVG boxed software still OOS

235 boxed TM MS 3 user available right now. At least in SoCal.

Isn't it just 4%? (i.e. it's in place of, not on top off, the usual 1%)

I emailed Staples last night about the free paper I forgot to order but never got a response. I went to live chat and got a reply from "Bonnie" that had me wondering if they had outsourced their CS: "Sorry unable to order it separately the order will not allow to put the order through with no items add to the order." However, after pointing out that I had been able to do this in the past when I had forgotten to use a coupon from a catalog for a free item, I got another reply "Your free case of paper will be delivered on Monday."

Thanks for posting your success. What are the odds? I just chatted with Bonnie too and I gave her the coupon code and she said she would add it to my order and I would receive a free case of paper on Monday. After our chat, I looked at my order and see it wasn't physically changed and there was no other order listed for the paper, so I hope it comes. I forgot to have the chat transcript e-mailed to me for proof.

I assume because they advertise this as a free case of paper that it will be sales tax free also.

This morning I got updates on both of my orders. I just got home from work and saw they both had updated. It is interesting. My AVG order said it shipped yesterday, but I am not due to receive it until February 27th.
