So, to clarify, there really is no restrictions on the rebate other than "1 per vehicle"? I can theoretically submit multiples (in separate envelopes) w/o any problems? Anyone confirm this?

I posted in a duplicate thread. I called the rebate phone number and spoke to a rep. She told me it can take several weeks for it to even show up online, due to the volume of rebates they process.

(No, my mid-February submission has not yet shown up online either.)

I did this, after counting my vehicles, 8!!

Only submitted for the registered ones however!

Will return oil which has not been approved for this rather ambiguous offer.

hpm.

corbon said:   This is a great deal for full synthetic. Does it matter if one was to switch between different synthetic brand oils, i.e. Mobil1, Castrol, Royal Purple or should I stick with one brand?

no problem... I have a 1995 BMW 318ic wih 209,000 miles and still kicking strong and no oil leak. I switch to what is on sale all the time. (synthetic)

Haven't received mine and it's been a month. I will return it if I don't get it in 2 more weeks. Done w/ MIR's. PITA.

I filed a claim with the better business bureau against sopus. I attached the non warranty form(no VIN required). If they don't contact me by Monday, I'm going to file a BBB claim against against Wal-Mart and inform them on how Shell, Pennzoil and Quaker State won't honor their rebate programs. Plus removing documentation from the internet before the promotion expires. I'll copy paste from the Wal-Mart form and send one to Advance Auto Parts, Pep Boys and Autozone.

The rebate form is no longer available on the manufacturer's website. Does anyone have a copy they could post?

Why not click on "rebate form" on the post above yours?

Settle down Rambo. QS has given us no reason to believe our rebates won't be paid yet.

Spot on. Yeah, it remains early.

Besides, there is a toll-free number you can call on this. The really shaky rebates are distinguishable by e-mail contact only - no toll-free number. And they are most often Chinese. I don't think this rebate is Chinese.

Yes, it's still possible QS may pay out, but several people on BITOG have already reported being denied the rebate even after calling in to speak to a CSR. Add to the fact that the rebate/site has been pulled and this is enough to make me think twice about doing the rebate. Hopefully everything gets sorted out.

If QS denies the rebate, just return the oil.

I got mine at Wal-Mart, and if a retrun ends up having to take place I only have the copies I made of my receipt as I decided to send in the original due to their sloppy way of explaining the requirements, IMO. At my WalMart they did a return at Christmas from a copy of my receipt but the next time I had a similar retrun, I was told they can only do so with an original, so, YMMV.

The good thing about this item is we were not required to "destroy" the item for a seal or UPC.

It's the difference between knowing your crap and knowing you're crap.

Don't sell capitalization short either... it's the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse and...

Anyway, nothing on the web site yet for me either.

I normally use Mobil1 Extended Performance which is guaranteed for 15K miles. How long is this oil good for?

Also, is it ok to mix this oil with another fully synthetic oil?

I googled "quaker state ultimate durability rebate" and found the rebate form linked from the fourth result down after the google ad:
http://www.quakerstatewarranty.com/rebate/8/

Clicking on their image takes me to the rebate form:
http://www.quakerstatewarranty.com/media/promo/rebate_1_8.pdf

If you go right to quakerstate.com and click on "WARRANTY/Cash Back BONUS" at the top, you are taken to a page aboout the warranty offer. Scroll to the bottom and click on the "SIGN UP AND SAVE" offer. You are asked your email addy and which rebate you want, they then email you the SAME link and form I found thru google: http://www.quakerstatewarranty.com/rebate/8/

So, it does not appear as though they have taken down the rebate form from what I can tell.

According to those who called in to check on status or find out why their rebate(s) were invalid, no VIN # and/or no plate # on rebate form was the reason given by the CSR.

That doesn't make sense since there are two options for the rebate

1. Sign up for the Quaker State warranty, service reminders and get the rebate (there's a space for VIN # on rebate form)

or

2. I do not want to sign up for the warranty, but I would like the rebate (no space for VIN # on rebate form)

The site is back up now: http://quakerstatewarranty.com/signup/

Hopefully everything has been sorted out.

Unless you disassemble your engine, you cannot remove 100% of your old oil. So, no matter what, you are mixing your new oil with your old.

I called the TF #. Waste of time. Better off hugging your spouse or kids w/ that time.

If you pay w/ a CC, wally world can search your card by swiping it. Many stores can do this now. Kohl's etc. Not much need to hang on to receipts these days, except mebbe for bogus rebates.

that's stupid. it shouldn't matter whether the receipt is original or a copy.
WalMart doesn't take back the original receipt anyway.

plus, the transaction was valid in the first place.

All I have are photocopies of my receipts, and I plan to return in 90 days if I don't get this rebate.

I sent mine on 2/21. Still no status. Perhaps the slowest rebate processing I've ever seen.

With all rebates I've done in the past, at least they entered my damned info in their system within 4 weeks.

You could always just skip the receipt entirely. I've never had any difficulty returning things to WalMart without a receipt. They take my drivers license number to make sure I'm not abusing the system, and that's acceptable to me after I've irresponsibly lost my receipt (or sent it off for a denied rebate). Sometimes they give me cash, sometimes a credit; the credit always gets spent soon enough anyway.

That screenshot of the rebate status doesn't make sense to me. What type of info was listed under the "Company Address" heading? And, is the "no VIN/plate reason" shown on that status page? If that is for a rebate that opted for the VIN-plate version all it is showing is "no reimbursement code."

Also, those reasons make no sense, as you stated, because there is no space for such info on the form. That is like saying your MIR is rejected because you did not include the color of both eyes-LOL!

What a sloppy way to run a rebate!

in2dadark, thanks for that info on a return by having them search your CC, I was not aware of that. Do you know if that still counts as a non-receipt return? Do you know if they track those with a CC as they do with a drivers license?

You probably don't do a lot of rebates. Many of the rebate fulfillment houses out there don't ever post anything on their "status" site until they are about to cut checks. On one rebate, I actually received payment in the mail before status-now (Velocity) even bothered posting a "processing" status on their site.

I just read on that Bob's Oil Guy site someone thought they would get rejected for the rebate not getting received BY 3/31/12. For anyone else that read that, this is not correct. The form states it expires 3/31, not that it must be received by that date. Unless, that is some other poorly worded clause!

This whole rebate is extremely poorly worded and organized, therefore, I chose to pass. I got 5 quarts of Mobil1 extended performance oil and the extended performance filter for $34.99 at Advance Auto. It has a change interval of 15K. Been using it for years now and am pleased with the performance.

.......................................................................................................

I`ve done like 6 different car oil changes and have not spent 35 bucks..

I have run the EP oil with the super premium Bosch long Distance filter..after 9 months and about 9,000 miles that stuff come
out looking like tar..

When your motor drops dead say around 200,000 miles, you think they are going to give you a new motor?.

That`s just like this QuakerState syn with 300,000 mile on the jug..Not one person has ever got a replacement motor from them.!

Menards and motor oil rebates have been about the very best for paying for me,, btw..

Same as having a receipt. Add Lowes & HD to the list too. Most big chains now. I usually ask them if they can search my card, if I'm not sure.

I haven't gotten the G oil one back yet either. And that one was 26$.

Rebate will come but its slow so you'll just have to wait it out

Very true. I don't even bother to check these status pages ( except for Staples Easy rebates). The others are pretty worthless. You'd think they enter them when they recieve them just to show you are in the system. This would cut down on phone calls & emails from nervous consumers, but it usually takes 6 weeks + to see anything at all, pretty much pointless

I called about this myself and was told by DALIA that you can purchase through 03/31/12 but you have 2 weeks to postmark the rebate envelope after 03/31/12

My rebate is now showing up as processing, I sent in a copy of the wallyworld receipt.

Looks like at the moment the rebate center will only approve 1 unregistered rebate according to BITOG

I sent in 1 unregistered rebate around 2/18 with the original WalMart receipt, it showed up on the rebate website a few days back and looks like they approved it today

I mailed in 2 more rebates mid-March, but they where registered rebates with VIN so those should be approved without any problems

http://www.shellrebatecenter.com/quaker_state/ (just need last name and zip)

Promotion OFR: QS WARRANTY REBATE - NO REIMBURSEMENT CODE, VIN OR LICENSE PLATE - O313-04-RB
Purchase Date 02/17/2012
Date Received 04/02/2012
Product1 5 QTS QS ULTIMATE DURABILITY
Amount: $20.00
Status PROCESSED

I sent in three separate rebates, each with copies of vehicle registration AND insurance cards. (Some of you might remember this, I earned some red for paranoia!) I also registered all three vehicles on their website. Well sure enough, despite my paranoia of supplying over-information, they approved one and denied the remaining two. The reason given was

Invalid Reason: Duplicate submission

I guess I'll call in and see what I can find out.

jatan1986, thanks for the suggestion of entering in the last name and ZIP! I was entering the street address too, but it was coming back "not found". Apparently the reason was that using "RD" versus "ROAD" was causing the rebate not to be found online.

Edit: I also sent a copy of my receipts in place of the originals.

Okay, I called in and got the answer.

When you register a vehicle on their website, you will be given one of two choices:

  1. Your vehicle qualifies for the warranty, and you choose "Give me the warranty and the rebate".
  2. Your vehicle does not qualify for the warranty (age or mileage), and you choose "I don't qualify for the warranty but I still want the rebate".

Here's the tricky part... You only qualify for multiple vehicle rebates in the case of #1, but not for #2. Since none of my vehicles qualified for the warranty due to mileage, I am told I am only eligible for a single rebate.

chrispitude said:   Here's the tricky part... You only qualify for multiple vehicle rebates in the case of #1, but not for #2. It isn't fair for them to make up these kinds of terms after posting the rebate and without making these terms extremely clear in the rebate itself.
