Actually, direct link below to the $20 rebate form for the synthetic oil discussed in this thread, for US addresses, above link has canadian and other forms, too confusing...
VirginiaDC said: Regarding the ATF... Over the years I have put a half quart of ATF in my oil and ran it to operating temp before doing an oil change. My theory was that since ATF is high detergent it could help dissolve any sludge buildup and flush it out the oilpan. Can't say it ever helped or hurt. very bad myth!!
ATF has the same or less detergents in it then motor oil does. The only thing your doing is thinning out the motor oil and nothing more.
ATF is thin hydraulic fluid, not much more. A tranny and a motor are two totally different machines!!!

Rebate form requires 5 quarts and my WalMart receipt shows 5QT as purchased for the jug. I have no worries as to whether or not I have met their requirements and neither should any of you with a WM receipt.
Receipt shows "160FO QHRSPW 007310204892" (160 fl oz = 5qt, Q-horsepower was the old name before they changed it to UD) -- dont think it'll be a problem with the rebate since the UPC is listed

I think have way to much oil. I did 6 rebates on the Warranty Program (Pennzoil & Quaker State on 3 cars). Then I found 15 gallons of PYB & QSGB at K-Mart for $5 & $4 respectively. Then G-Oil & this Quaker State this week.

I had no idea they even sold good quality oil
I will stop buy tomorrow and grab some.
Where's that 20% off coupon when you REALLY need it?! Must be because QS discontinued the Q-Horsepower branding/marketing for the current Ultimate Durability.

Already have 5 quarts of synthetic for my next oil change but for this price I'll stock up for the time after that.
Picked up a 5 qt. container at WalMart in PA for $20.57 + $1.24 tax = $21.81. The receipt description is as vague as possible ("5W20 5QT") but the UPC is there so I don't imagine having problems obtaining the rebate. If I do I'll have an opportunity to assess the value of Quaker State's customer service department; just in case that fails I'm keeping a copy of the receipt to return the oil to WM.
Thanks OP, and hello FatWallet!

Really wish it was for ten quarts. My air-cooled takes between 9 & 10 quarts for an oil change. Don't like mixing brands, maybe I will buy two on seperate receipts and hve my wife's info on the other.

You can never have too much synthetic oil.
4 years ago i walked into an autozone store and they were clearing out their stock of synthetics. All synthices had to go and they were priced to move .... Im talking $2 per bottle.
I spent over $300 that day and literally filled my trunk with oils. Today i am down to my last 4 quarts from that robbery.
My fleet of 2 cars and a SUV have never known the taste of conventional or synth blend. Im looking for another big score but thats unlikely. Deals like these seem to be the best way to stackup on oil. And while its slower in the long run its much chaeper (FAR).
Just buy them and stack them in your garage. You wont be sorry.

Ok, bought a 5 quart jug of it at WalMart for $20.57. I'll have the rebate sent to my work address in MA. Receipt says "Q HRSPW 5W30".

Yes and No.
WalMart has the 5qt Jug for right around $21 but my local WalMart also sells the individual quarts for $6.72 each (which is about $0.50 higher than my local Advance Auto), so not that much of a differance when comparing apples to apples

Actually, some stores will allow this since the thermal paper they use to print receipts will fade easily under certain conditions, and they keep track of returns against receipts in their computer system. I scan all auto parts store receipts for parts that carry lifetime ( or multi year) warranties for that very reason. not sure about WalMart's policy. my guess is if they can scan the copy, bring up the order and see it's not in their system as refunded that they would at least issue store credit, assuming it's within their allowable return period.
Some stores (Home Depot, target, Lowes to name a few) can look up the purchase by scanning UPC and swiping your credit card and will refund with no receipt at all. Lowes will also use your phone number to look up the sale (if you provide it when paying cash) and refund with no receipt needed.
YMMV

That's odd-I have an 08 Prius and it's manual calls for 5w-30 which we have used in it since the start (including some oil changes at the dealer).

Gen III (2010 and beyond) take 0W-20 and 10k between changes.

QSUD comes in 0W20 but not sure which stores actually carry it -- didnt see it at WalMart and nothing on AAP/Autozone website, you can try Big Lots if you have one nearby (never been there so not sure)
Most stores will have Mobil 1 0W20 (WalMart sells the 5qt jug for <$30, right now website shows $26.48 for an instore pickup for me) or you can buy Toyota 0W20 from eBay (usually 12 qts are $80-90 shipped)

So, anybody buying multiple 5 Qt jugs at WalMart (each jug per receipt) and stocking up on these oils? Like someone previously stated, the rebate doesn't disqualify multiple submissions if buying the 5 Qts. I have yet to swing by WalMart. But if I do, I think I may just start stocking up on these. Might have to buy some stamps in bulk... LOL. I've been waiting for Mobil 1 Extended Performance (full synthetic oil) sale but this might do.

For almost-free, I had to go ahead and buy one of these. I've got oil stocked up from Black Friday sales and others now to cover at least 3-4 oil changes on each of my cars. Sad thing is I might not even keep one of them long enough to use up the oil I have stocked up for it.

I am considering buying three, and enclosing a photocopy of the vehicle registration for each of our three vehicles to be safe.
No phone number or website on the rebate form to check status.

I hope they'll hold up their end of the deal and send the rebate check, of course.

I think this is big YMMV, most of the big lot near me don't carry QS, but I've seen it before from somewhere. My new accord also recommend 0w-20, they change from 5w-20 to 0w-20 since 2011 due to more fuel efficient, but since 0w-20 still expensive and no rebate available, i think i will use 5w-20 during summer month.

Big Lots is very much hit or miss. Last year this deal came up adn the I-10 store had 4 quarts in stock, the Hwy 281 store had none, and a store inside loop 410 had 30 quarts.

Yikes, 10w30 in an engine that specifies 0W20? You are asking for big trouble, especially in a cold winter. And any warranty claims could legitimately be voided. Stick with what the engineers who designed the engined call for.
There were about 10 5 Qt. jugs at the Renton, WA WalMart this afternoon (about $20.50 each). I bought 3 and that left 5 5W/30 and 2 10W/30.
They also had the high mileage oil jugs for about $14.75 (you can get a $15 rebate for that from Quaker State as well).

back up your claims or educate yourself before spewing garbage. 10W30 will work just fine, but expect lower gas mileage.
