Went over to Electronics, new iPad 2s had been marked down to $299. The only color available was white, but I imagine the markdown was to clear inventory and make room for ipad 3 or new ipad whatever they'll call them
your lost if you think it is...already posted proof of purchase..whatever guys wanted to share a deal i think worth posting...

Which model was this? WiFi/16gb? Trying to gauge how insane a deal this is.

Yes, it appears to be WiFi/16GB according to the receipt if you look closely. Nice Score OP!

wp746911 said: but it's already out of date? Do you honestly think the iPad 3 is that much better, or are you just buying the hype? It's got a quad-core GPU, but still a dual-core CPU. The pixel density is still less than the iPhone 4/4S and iPod Touch. 4G LTE available at a premium cost, but of course WiFi-only remains by far the most popular choice. The rear camera bumps to 5 megapixels and the front-facing VGA camera is unchanged, meaning both cameras now equal the HTC Evo 4G I've been using for two years now. No price drop for the older iPad 2 and no entry-level 8GB model, killing both of those rumors. Seems like all sizzle and no steak to me, and I'd much prefer the iPad 2 at $299.

iPad 3 is much better. Previous iPads had nothing to make me buy them. Crappy software and questionable design. However finally Apple realized that most power of all iDevices is retina display. No one vendor yet can get close. So spend $300 for something else unless you can't add $200.

The software is no different on the iPad 3/HD/new.

IPAD 2 IS THE WORSE TABLET.

The image is from a slickdeals user and is their personal receipt.

Uh, no, that would be the Playbook or any of the crappy D-level Android tablets.
EDIT: Wow, pretty low of the OP to pretend this was their deal and rip off a receipt from another site.
vreichling said: The image is from a slickdeals user and is their personal receipt. I still don't see how that makes it the property of Slickdeals. Must be some kind of gentleman's agreement between SD and FW, because in the real world, that's fair use.
I went ahead and grabbed the last black one at my local WalMart for $399 just now. No go on price matching to the $299 receipt. I didn't want to make the same mistake I did with the HP TP in hand for full price only to have the price drop a few hours later. They said the PM can be done for up to 7 days and longer if the manager allow makes an exception. What's the return policy on these when unopened? 30 days? The receipt doesn't say.

It was WIDELY announced on different news shows that these are going to marked down to $299. Not sure what the big deal is. It's common knowledge.

The WIDELY news I heard was iPad2 $499 16gb drops to $399, not $299.

Standard price $299, this isn't hot if you just wait until the iPad 3 comes out.

Yes and that is also the offical word from Apple. As for the supposed $299 pricing, all it takes is 2 minutes to call the actual WM store on the receipt over at SD and ask.

Grats on a good deal to OP! I hope more walmarts decide to do this
WalMart is not a franchise. if one WalMart discounts. they all discount... at lease regionally. anyone else confirm this price.... i'm skeptical myself.
