$35.99 off Product Purchase. Coupon Code 69011 will be applied during checkout if requirements are met.
EDIT TO ADD: As of 7:30AM ET, coupon code to make this free doesn't seem to be active. Either deal not "turned on" yet at Staples or it's supposed to be an easy rebate....but their page is def. showing "instant savings" to make it $0.00.
someone may want to call 1800 3 Staples and find out the deal in this.

You need to add a filler so that the order > $0.00.
I added tape (131169) for $1.99.

It's supposed to be a Staples Easy Rebate. It's been going on for the past two weeks, and it's valid through the 24th. I think the rebate has a limit of 10/address!

That's TM Internet Security 2012 not the TM Antivirus 2012 in this deal. BTW the instant savings also works on the 1 user TM AV 2012 boxed edition sku 368177.

What is the difference between Antivirus and Internet Security? Do we need to buy both, or just one of them will be fine? Thanks.

IS is a little more comprehensive, usually includes spyware/malware and other assorted programs that don't always come with the basic anti virus program. AV is the most important in my opionion as there are free giveaways for various malware programs from time to time (like Malwarebytes, etc)

how the hell can a "digital download" be out of stock.....BOGUS Staples

ship the .50 item to the store for free shipping, the download link will be emailed to you. You don't have to ever pick up the paper clips at the store (unless you want to).

Curious Mr C, why are you buying this. It is not as if we are all not stocked up with a zillion copies of TM stuff over the last 3 months. This is not going to add to spend or have MM opportunity. What am I missing?

@ MISTERCHEAP - thanks for the tip! Didn't occur to me that I don't even have to pick up the item, I'm guessing they won't even charge me if I don't pick it up?
Does anyone here actually use this product? I'm trying to figure out if it requires to pay for virus signature updates similarly to Symantec. You get a year for free and then there's an annual fee. Is this the case with this one as well? I looked at their web site and they don't sate it clearly but they do have a "renew subscription" option so it makes me wonder.

never said I was buying this...just posted the deal and answering questions.
Some people despise rebate deals (simply don't want to lay out the money), so I'm sure there are lots of people going this route so they don't have to lay out $35 and wait for the rebate to come back.

I have Trend Micro on my laptop, works great. updates automatically for free during the life of your subscription, when your sub is up in a year, just look for another free after rebate deal for the next 12 months of coverage. there's no obligation to renew if you choose not to.
as for the paper clips, you are charged when they ship to the store. if you never pick them up, I'm not sure if you get credited back.

why not just add a $10 Staples gift card to your order? No tax and free shipping to your house

only if you wish to lay out the $10 til you use it. a .50 filler is a simple, low cost OOP.

That's a great idea, thanks! If you buy something from Staples regularly you just use it next time.
Actually, it gets even better. If you add a $10 card, the total is over $45 before coupon, so you can even get a boxed version with free delivery to your home!

I got a free copy because I flip the boxed software on the bay. It's only worth $7-$10 depending on the software, but I get a feedback point at least, and it negates the tax.
A free downloadable copy of this without the rebate hassle is just plain fun.
EDIT: loaded an old copy of the page and didn't see this one was asked and answered already, whoops

I believe If you gift cards to your order and there is any coupon in that order it will immediately get flagged to researching. I had a similar situation 2 times in the past but with the 25$ off coupon
I was told i cant add gift cards to make up the total and apply the coupon as they cant discount gift cards

The coupon also works on the boxed version, but you need to be Premier to get free shipping. As of this afternoon you still needed to have something else on the order for the coupon to apply.

Did not work for me, I purchased it through the site. It said my checkout total was going to be $0.00. 3 days later, a charge on my bank account. I also did not choose download version and they sent me download link anyway, never buying anything from Staples again, that is for sure! Oh well, I needed the anti-virus anyway and I'm not gonna whine. I wouldn't recommend this "supposed" rebate to anyone.

Call up Staples and ask why you were charged. They should be able to refund the charge back to your card.

Yeah I'm gonna call them, good luck to me for that one. If I knew this was going to happen I would have just bought ESET, Trend Micro ain't got nothing on NOD32 v5. However, I was thinking that something free is better than nothing for the time being and that is what caused me to go for this "rebate". I will call Staples up and we'll see what is up. So far they have said that they have received my email and it will take up to 2 days for them to respond through that medium. Hope to get some kind of answer. I'm not blaming anyone but myself for this, it might have been my error but I don't see why.

I got a similar problem resolved through their online chat -- they said it will take 2-3 days for the credit to post to my credit card.

I'm guessing you didn't add a "filler" item to your order and the coupon didn't apply itself to the order and you went thru to the payment screen with it showing the $35.99 total.
If that's the case, somewhat your own fault...........never go thru with check out if it's showing a total much higher than what you should be paying (in this case, about .50-$1 for a box of paper clips as the filler item to get the software for free)

@poppagene glad to hear your getting your case resolved.
@MISTERCHEAP obviously not my fault since there is a glich on this promotion since other members are going through the same thing. Either way this is a bad post and worse if you did not even plan to use it then why post anything. The only reason I'm saying to delete this post is so that no one goes through the same thing that I went through.

but you didn't answer my question. There's a reason why you got charged and it could have been avoided.

While I stock up on the Internet/Maximum security versions and hand them out to friends/family/acquaintances who need good parental software (the online time limits and site filtering in these packages is excellent), I did decide to place an order for these Antivirus-only licenses. The order went through correctly, the filler arrived 1 day later in the mail, and I've had no problems. In fact, I've needed to place a few orders at Staples, and each order I place, I always add another free license of both the download and box version.
Great deal, easy to apply for, and absolutely no problems whatsoever. Thanks for posting this, MC. If you're going to order something from Staples anyways, you might as well add a free boxed version of this to your cart. The coupon takes off taxes, so it's no loss to you. They now limit you to 1 copy of each (download and boxed) per order, while the limit WAS 1 box and 9 downloads (or 0 boxes and 10 downloads) per order a couple days ago.
EDIT: And for us non-premiere members (shame on me!), the before-coupon total counts towards the free shipping limit. If you need a small item and want free shipping on it, these items work as excellent tax-free fillers.
